Overview

The VOLGA 600 wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for those looking for efficient lighting and a clean finish in wet areas. Its IP44 protection rating makes it a suitable option for the bathroom, where humidity and splashes are part of everyday life. It also works well in hallways, where continuous, uninterrupted light along the wall is needed.

The matte black aluminium body gives it a solid, neat appearance. The opal diffuser distributes light evenly, without bright spots or harsh shadows. It is a wall light that does not draw excessive attention, but performs its function well and fits into different types of interiors.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Its products combine quality materials with designs created for everyday use, both in domestic environments and in larger-scale projects.

Installation and specifications

For installation, the wall light must be fixed directly to the wall using the anchors appropriate for the type of surface. Before starting, make sure to cut the power at the electrical panel. Wiring must be carried out by a qualified electrician if you have no experience with electrical installations. Check that the junction box in the wall is compatible with the dimensions of the wall light before completing the final installation.

For maintenance, clean the body surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte black aluminium finish. The PMMA diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth to keep light transmission in optimum condition. Do not handle the lamp while the power is on.

Design and use

The VOLGA 600 is a wall light that combines an elongated format with a matte black finish. With 600 mm in length and only 40 mm in height, it adapts well to spaces where available height is limited, such as bathrooms with floor-to-ceiling tiles or narrow hallways. The 80 mm depth keeps the profile close to the wall, making it discreet without losing presence.

The body is made of aluminium, a material that withstands humidity well and does not warp with temperature changes. In a bathroom, this matters: the differences between shower steam and dry air cause some materials to deteriorate over time. Aluminium handles those conditions without issue. The matte black finish adds a visual detail that contrasts well with light-coloured walls, whether white tiles, grey paint, or beige.

The diffuser is made of PMMA with an opal finish. This type of material filters the LED light and distributes it evenly along the 600 mm of the wall light. The result is a warm 3000K light that does not glare. In a bathroom, this is particularly useful in front of the mirror, where harsh light creates uncomfortable shadows. Placed horizontally above the mirror or to one side of it, the VOLGA 600 illuminates the face in a more balanced way.

Beyond the bathroom, this wall light fits in a bedroom as an elongated bedside light, in a living room as a complement to the main lighting, or in a dining room to reinforce the light over a specific area of the wall. In rooms where the ceiling lamp does not reach all corners well, a wall light like this covers those areas without the need to install additional ceiling light points.

The integrated SMD LED operates at 12W and is compatible with voltages between 100V and 240V, making it suitable for different electrical systems. The 3000K temperature produces a warm white light, close to that of a traditional bulb, which is pleasant in personal-use spaces such as the bathroom or bedroom.

In terms of design, the wall light has a clean language that can be combined with industrial-style elements, with black bathroom fixtures, with black mirror frames, or with dark-coloured furniture. It also contrasts well with natural finishes such as wood or light-toned textured surfaces. The elongated shape and colour give it versatility without being overly neutral.

Questions and answers

Is the VOLGA 600 wall light suitable for installation inside the bathroom, near the shower or bathtub?

Yes. The wall light has IP44 certification, meaning it is protected against water splashes from any direction. This makes it suitable for installation in wet areas of the bathroom, although the safety zones indicated by the electrical regulations in force in each country must always be respected.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp comes with the LED integrated as standard. No additional bulb needs to be purchased. The 12W SMD LED module comes pre-installed in the wall light and is ready to use from the moment of installation.

Does the aluminium body require any special treatment to maintain the matte black finish?

No special treatment is required. Simply clean the surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth when necessary. It is important to avoid aggressive chemical products or abrasive pads that may scratch the matte aluminium finish.
