Overview

The VESPER lamp by FARO is a wall sconce designed for those looking for interior lighting with its own character. Its structure plays with the combination of solid and open elements, giving it a clear visual presence without feeling overwhelming. It is a lamp that works well in the living room, bedroom, hallway, or even the bathroom, whenever a light source with a defined shape and careful finish is desired.

The sconce is made of steel with a brown finish, a tone that fits warm environments and interiors featuring wood, earth tones, or textured surfaces. It is not a background lamp, but rather an element that stands out and contributes something to the space where it is placed.

FARO is a Spanish company with years of experience in the lighting industry. Its products combine functional design with quality materials, and are designed for real domestic use, not just for catalogues.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the sconce, make sure the wall where it will be mounted is solid and can support the weight of the assembly. The wiring must be correctly installed in the wall before proceeding with the mounting. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, it is advisable to seek the help of an electrician. Make sure to disconnect the power before handling any connections. The sconce supports voltages between 100V and 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid in Spain and in most parts of the world.

The E14 LED bulb is not included, so you will need to purchase it separately. Choose a bulb that does not exceed 8W to respect the maximum rated wattage. To clean the surface of the sconce, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the steel finish. Always disconnect the lamp from the power supply before cleaning it.

Design and use

The VESPER sconce by FARO has a construction based on two bodies that relate to each other by playing with the contrast between solid and open. This duality gives it a modern look without resorting to complicated shapes. It is a lamp that has visual presence but does not compete with the rest of the space, rather it complements it.

The material is steel, which gives it solidity and stability. The brown finish brings it closer to a warm register, moving away from the cold industrial feel that metal sconces sometimes have. That tone works especially well in rooms where natural colors predominate, such as beige, off-white, or soft greys. It also pairs well with wooden surfaces or with decorative elements in a Nordic or more artisanal style.

In the living room, this sconce can be placed at mid-height to create a complementary light source alongside the main lighting. It does not replace the ceiling lamp, but it adds a closer and more directed layer of light that changes the atmosphere of the room. In the bedroom, it works well as a lateral reading lamp, fixed to the wall next to the headboard of the bed. This frees up space on the nightstand and provides a visually cleaner solution.

In the dining room, a sconce like this can flank a mirror or a piece of artwork hanging on the wall, reinforcing both the lighting and the decorative composition of the space. It is also a good option for hallways, where ceiling light is often insufficient or too uniform. Installed on the wall of a hallway, the VESPER sconce creates light points that add depth and make the space feel different.

In the bathroom, this type of sconce is commonly used next to the mirror or on the sides of the washbasin. It provides more direct and functional light for specific tasks such as grooming or applying makeup. The E14 LED bulb used with this sconce offers efficient and long-lasting light, reducing the need to change bulbs frequently.

With its 265 mm height and 220 mm length, the sconce has a balanced size: present enough to be noticed, but without taking up more space than necessary. In small rooms this matters, because an oversized wall lamp can throw off the proportions of the space.

The VESPER series includes several luminaires conceived with the same design logic, allowing different models to be combined within the same home while maintaining visual coherence. That possibility of creating a coordinated set is useful when renovating more than one room at the same time.

Questions and answers

Can the VESPER sconce be installed in a bathroom with humidity?

The sconce is rated for indoor use. If installed in a bathroom, it is advisable to place it in an area away from the shower or bathtub, where there is no direct exposure to steam or water splashes.

What type of E14 LED bulb is most suitable for this sconce?

Any bulb with an E14 base and a maximum wattage of 8W is compatible. It is recommended to choose a warm-light LED bulb if you want to maintain the atmosphere suggested by the brown finish of the sconce.

Does the weight of the sconce require any special wall anchoring?

The net weight of the sconce is 1.11 kg. In most masonry or drywall surfaces with an appropriate wall plug, no special anchoring is needed, but it is important to ensure that the fixing point is secure before completing the installation.
