Overview

TRAMA is a plaster wall light designed to provide indirect lighting while also adding visual character to the wall where it is installed. Its linear textures create a play of shadows and reliefs that is noticeable even when the lamp is off. It can be positioned horizontally or vertically, giving some freedom when adapting it to the available space. The bidirectional version emits light both upward and downward, achieving a more enveloping effect on the wall and the surrounding area.

This wall light fits well in a bedroom where soft lighting is desired, in a living room where direct ceiling light is to be avoided, or in a hallway where the main focus is atmosphere rather than functionality. It can also work in a bathroom if the installation conditions allow, providing a warm light source that differs from the usual.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in interior and exterior luminaires. Their products combine design criteria with carefully chosen materials, built to last and to integrate well into different types of spaces.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, make sure the wall can support the weight of the assembly, as plaster adds somewhat more load than other lightweight materials. Fixing must be carried out on a solid surface using appropriate anchors for the type of wall. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a person with basic electrical knowledge or a professional. Check that the circuit is de-energised before connecting the wires. The E14 LED bulb is not included, so it is advisable to have it on hand before completing the assembly.

Plaster is a material that can accumulate dust easily. To clean the surface of the wall light, use a dry or slightly damp cloth, without abrasive products or solvents. Avoid prolonged contact with direct moisture. Do not handle the bulb with dirty hands or touch the internal components when the lamp is connected to the mains.

Design and use

The TRAMA wall light starts from a simple idea: that a wall lamp does not have to be limited to providing light. The plaster body has a matte white finish with linear textures that give it volume and presence. When light falls on those grooves and reliefs, the shadow projected onto the wall changes depending on the installation angle. Positioned vertically, the effect is more elongated and dynamic. Horizontally, it expands and integrates differently with the space.

The bidirectional version projects light both upward and downward. This allows the lighting to be distributed over a wider band of the wall, without relying solely on a single point. In a bedroom, this type of light creates a calm atmosphere, without the strong contrast of a direct spotlight. In a living room, it can complement other light sources and add visual depth to the overall scheme.

The plaster material gives the wall light a weight and texture characteristic of more artisanal decorative elements. It does not resemble a plastic or metal lamp. It has a discreet solidity, the same that can be seen in architectural elements such as mouldings or cornices. This makes it compatible with interiors that seek a more refined style without becoming overly ornate.

In a private bathroom, where overhead lighting tends to be cold and uniform, a wall light like TRAMA can make a difference. Placed on either side of the mirror or on a side wall, it balances the lighting and adds a decorative touch without reducing functionality. In long hallways, where installing multiple ceiling spotlights can be costly or complicated, two or three wall lights distributed at the same height create an orderly visual sequence and sufficient light to move around comfortably.

In a kitchen with a distinct access area or entrance, the wall light can work well in that intermediate section between the work space and the rest of the home. In a dining room, installed on a side wall next to a table or sideboard, it adds an additional level of light that complements the central lamp without competing with it. The scale of the wall light, at 320 mm long and 112 mm high, makes it suitable for medium-sized spaces without being excessive in smaller rooms.

The white finish allows TRAMA to integrate effortlessly into light-coloured walls, and also contrasts well against darker tones. It is a wall light that is modern in its approach, but without visual references that tie it to a specific style, making it easy to combine with different types of furniture and materials.

Questions and answers

Can the TRAMA wall light be installed both horizontally and vertically without modifying the fixing system?

Yes. The design of TRAMA allows it to be oriented in both positions without needing to modify the anchoring system. The choice of orientation depends on the visual effect desired and the space available on the wall.

Does the bidirectional version emit light on both sides simultaneously with a single bulb?

Yes. The bidirectional version of TRAMA is designed to project light upward and downward simultaneously with a single E14 LED light source, distributing the illumination across the wall in two directions at once.

Does the weight of the plaster body require a special type of wall fixing?

The wall light has a net weight of 2.12 kg, which is somewhat heavier than a lamp made of synthetic material. It is advisable to use appropriate wall plugs and screws for the type of wall where it is to be installed, especially if it is plasterboard or hollow materials.
