Overview

The SOLE wall light by FARO is a grey-finish wall lamp that easily fits into different spaces in the home. Its smooth structure and compact shape allow it to be installed without taking up too much visual space. What makes it distinctive is its ability to emit light in one direction or both, depending on how it is positioned and what result is sought in each room.

It is a good option for those who want directed lighting without adding unnecessary volume to the wall. The neutral grey of its body does not compete with the rest of the décor, but instead integrates easily into modern or more understated environments.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Its products are designed for real domestic use, with durable materials and designs that do not go out of style quickly.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this wall light, make sure the surface is clean, dry and free of irregularities. As this is a wall-mounted surface luminaire, it is recommended to verify that the electrical wiring is switched off before beginning installation. For a secure fixing, use the appropriate plugs and screws for the type of wall — brick, drywall or concrete each require different anchors. If you have any doubts about the process, it is preferable to consult an electrician.

To keep the wall light in good condition, clean the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive products or liquids that may damage the metallic finish. Do not handle the lamp with wet hands or when it is connected to the power supply. Please note that the GU10 LED bulb is not included, so you will need to purchase it separately before installation.

Design and use

The SOLE wall light has a body made of aluminium and steel, two materials that combine lightness and strength. The result is a lamp with very little weight — just 200 grams — that does not overload the wall and is easy to handle during installation. Its compact dimensions (100 mm high, 80 mm long and 65 mm deep) make it a practical option for spaces where there is not much room between furniture or decorative elements.

The grey colour of its finish is one of the strong points of this design. It is not a striking or bright metallic grey, but a matte tone that performs well under different lighting conditions. In a bedroom, for example, it can be placed on either side of the headboard to create balanced lighting without the need for bedside lamps. In a living room, it can work as a complement to the central lighting, adding visual depth to a specific area of the room.

In the bathroom, this type of wall light is especially useful when placed near the mirror. Emitting light from both sides helps reduce shadows on the face, something that is appreciated in everyday use. In hallways, where lighting is often reduced to a single central point, a wall light like SOLE can distribute light better along the length of the space and make it appear larger.

The dining room is another environment where this lamp fits well. Mounted on a side wall, it can create a warmer atmosphere during meals, without relying solely on ceiling lighting. In the kitchen, if there are work areas that fall into shadow, a wall light of this type can resolve the problem discreetly.

The possibility of directing the light to one side or both gives flexibility depending on the intended use. If placed in a narrow hallway with the light directed upwards and downwards, the visual effect makes the space appear longer. If used in a bedroom with the light directed to one side, it allows reading without disturbing the person next to you.

The smooth-structure design makes it compatible with modern interiors, but also with more neutral spaces that do not follow a specific aesthetic style. The grey does not impose a style, it simply accompanies. It works equally well against a white wall as it does on an earth-toned surface or even in combination with wooden or wrought iron elements.

As it is compatible with a GU10 LED bulb of up to 8W, energy consumption is low. This LED technology offers a good lifespan and does not generate excessive heat, which is an advantage in small spaces such as the bathroom or a hallway.

Questions and answers

Can the SOLE wall light emit light in both directions at the same time, or do you have to choose just one?

The SOLE wall light is designed to emit light from one side or both. The orientation depends on how it is installed and the position given to the body during mounting.

What type of bulb does this wall light require and is it included in the purchase?

It requires a GU10 LED bulb with a maximum power of 8W. The bulb is not included and must be purchased separately before using the lamp.

Does the aluminium and steel body make the wall light heavy or difficult to fix to the wall?

No. The net weight of the wall light is only 0.2 Kg, making it very easy to handle. It is fixed directly to the wall and does not require special reinforcement on most standard domestic surfaces.
