Overview

The SOLE wall light by FARO is a round-shaped wall lamp with a terracotta finish. Its smooth structure and compact profile allow it to be placed in different areas of the home without becoming an intrusive element. It works well in a bedroom, living room, or hallway, whether the interior design is contemporary or has a warmer, more Mediterranean character.

One of its distinguishing features is the ability to emit light on one or both sides. This provides some flexibility when deciding how to illuminate the space. Not all wall lights offer this option, and in practice it makes a difference depending on where the lamp is placed.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in the lighting industry. Its products are designed for real domestic use, with attention to finish and functionality.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, you will need a recessed junction box or access to the wiring at the mounting point. As a surface-mounted luminaire, the base rests directly on the wall and is secured with the included anchoring elements. If you have no experience with electrical installations, it is safest to have it fitted by an electrician. Always disconnect the power from the electrical panel before starting. The GU10 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

To clean the body of the wall light, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Do not use abrasive products or solvents on the terracotta surface, as they may affect the finish. Disconnect the lamp from the power supply before cleaning it. Avoid allowing moisture to enter the inside of the body or the lamp holder area.

Design and use

The SOLE wall light has a circular design that fits well in spaces where unobtrusive wall lighting is desired. The terracotta finish is warm and matte, making it compatible with off-white, beige, light grey, or earthy-toned walls. It also works on darker walls, where the contrast highlights the round shape of the fitting.

The body is made from aluminium and steel, materials that provide rigidity without adding unnecessary weight. The complete unit weighs less than a quarter of a kilogram, making it easy to transport and mount on the wall. Despite its lightness, the structure remains solid once fixed in place.

The ability to direct light towards one or both sides is a detail that directly influences how the illuminated space is perceived. Placed in a hallway, it can distribute light upwards and downwards simultaneously, creating a more balanced visual effect. In a bedroom, if installed next to the headboard, it can be oriented so that the light falls only to one side and does not disturb someone resting. In the living room, two symmetrical wall lights can work as complementary lighting alongside a main lamp, adding layers of light without overwhelming the space.

In the kitchen or dining room, this type of wall light can serve as a secondary light source. It is not intended to illuminate a work area exclusively, but rather to accompany other light sources and create a more pleasant atmosphere during meals or quieter moments.

In the bathroom, provided the installation is carried out away from areas with high exposure to steam, this wall light can integrate well next to a mirror or on a side wall. Its compact size, with only 155 mm in height and 65 mm in depth, means it does not overshadow other elements in the bathroom.

Compatibility with a GU10 LED bulb allows you to choose the colour temperature that best suits each room. A warmer light accentuates the terracotta tone of the body and reinforces a cosy atmosphere. A more neutral light can better balance the overall look in spaces with more understated or modern décor.

The design of SOLE does not seek to dominate the space. Its clean shape and discreet finish allow it to adapt effortlessly to different styles, from interiors with more contemporary design elements to rooms with a more classic or rustic character. Terracotta, as a colour, pairs well with natural materials such as wood or linen, and also with more industrial surfaces such as concrete or exposed metal.
