Overview

SAVOY is a wall light designed for interior lighting, with a white textile shade and metal structure in a matte white finish. Its distinguishing feature is the upper ring, which reflects light towards the wall and ceiling, creating a soft and balanced visual effect. It also incorporates an integrated LED reader, allowing you to alternate between ambient and reading light without the need to add another lamp to the space.

This lamp is a proposal by designer Isaac Piñeiro for the Spanish brand FARO, recognized for combining functionality with a clean formal language. FARO has been developing lighting solutions for the home environment for years, with attention to constructive detail and the aesthetic coherence of its collections.

The SAVOY wall light fits well in a bedroom, living room, hallway or any corner where warm, directed light is desired. It is especially useful beside the bed or in reading areas, where the function of the lamp goes beyond illuminating the surroundings.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light correctly, it is advisable to have the help of a qualified electrician, especially if the wiring is not prepared in advance. The fixture is mounted directly to the wall, so it is worth checking the type of surface before proceeding: on plasterboard walls or lightweight materials, appropriate wall plugs and screws should be used. The lamp does not include a bulb, so you must separately purchase an LED bulb with an E27 base compatible with the maximum indicated wattage. Before connecting, make sure the circuit is de-energized.

The textile shade can be gently cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth, without abrasive products. The steel structure can be wiped with a damp cloth with water, avoiding prolonged contact with liquids. It is not recommended to handle the lamp with wet hands or with the power connected. To keep the matte white finish in good condition, avoid using glass cleaners or other products containing solvents.

Design and use

The SAVOY wall light is based on a steel structure lacquered in matte white, a material that provides solidity without adding visual weight to the whole. The white textile shade filters the light evenly, softening the emission point and avoiding the harsh contrasts that rigid shades sometimes produce. The result is a light that feels more enveloping, suitable for spaces where a calm atmosphere is desired.

The element that distinguishes this lamp from other similar solutions is the metal ring located at the top. This ring acts as a reflector: it directs part of the light towards the wall and ceiling, generating a halo that amplifies the sense of depth in the room. It is not a forced decorative effect, but something that arises from the geometry of the wall light itself and works well in spaces with smooth walls or in light tones.

The integrated LED reader adds a layer of functionality that few wall lamps offer in this format. It allows you to direct light towards a specific point, such as a book, a screen or a painting, without needing to turn on all the lighting in the space. This combination makes the wall light particularly suitable for the bedroom, where it is convenient to have lighting options at different intensities and directions depending on the time of day.

In the living room, the SAVOY wall light works well as a complement to a more powerful central lighting. Placed at mid-height on the wall, it helps to break up lighting uniformity and define zones within the space. In hallways, where available surface is limited, its compact profile allows it to be installed without interfering with traffic. The depth of 265 mm is contained for the volume it offers, and the projection does not protrude uncomfortably.

In a bathroom or shared-use bathroom, a lamp of this type can be installed next to the mirror or in the wash area if the electrical conditions of the space allow it. The diffused light from the textile shade avoids the harsh reflections that glass wall lights or direct spotlights sometimes produce. For a kitchen or dining room, where functional lighting is a priority, the SAVOY can work as supplementary or ambient light in adjacent areas, without aiming to replace a central lamp.

The matte white finish of the body integrates easily into Nordic-style interiors or spaces with a neutral color palette. It also works well alongside light wood elements, natural textiles and furniture with simple lines. The textile shade provides a texture that balances the coldness of the metal and gives character to the whole without visually overloading the space. It is a wall light that does not compete with the rest of the furniture, but complements it.

Questions and answers

Does the SAVOY wall light include the LED bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. You need to purchase separately a bulb with an E27 base and a maximum power of 15 W. A LED bulb compatible with that base is recommended.

Is the upper ring of the wall light fixed or can it be oriented in different directions?

The ring is part of the fixed structure of the wall light and is not adjustable. Its function is to reflect light towards the wall and ceiling naturally, without the need for manual adjustment.

How far does the SAVOY wall light protrude from the wall once installed?

The depth of the wall light is 265 mm from the wall. This is a detail to bear in mind especially in narrow hallways or spaces with frequent traffic.
