Overview

SAVOY is a wall light designed for interior lighting. It adapts well to different rooms in the home: it works in a bedroom as well as in a living room, a hallway, or even a bathroom where the style of the space allows it. The lamp combines a matte black steel structure with a green textile shade, giving it a character of its own without being excessive.

The most striking detail of this wall light is the ring at the top of the shade. The light that escapes through it projects a soft reflection onto the ceiling, adding depth to the atmosphere without the need for any other element. It is a way of lighting that does not interrupt the space, but completes it.

SAVOY was designed by Isaac Piñeiro for the brand FARO, a company with a long track record in the decorative and interior lighting sector. FARO combines design criteria with attention to finishes, and this is evident in the final result of every lamp in its catalogue.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, wiring from the wall to the lamp's connection point is required. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially if there is no existing outlet at the desired location. Before starting, the power must be switched off at the electrical panel. The wall light accepts voltages between 100 V and 240 V, making it compatible with the standard electrical network in Spain and most countries. The E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately, with a maximum power of 15 W.

To clean the wall light, simply wipe the metal structure with a dry or slightly damp cloth. The textile shade requires more care: do not wet it, do not rub it forcefully, and do not use abrasive products. If dust accumulates, it can be wiped with a soft brush or a dry microfibre cloth. Do not switch on the lamp if there is visible moisture on any of its parts. Periodically check that the wiring and lamp holder are in good condition.

Design and use

The SAVOY wall light has a solid construction based on steel with a matte black finish. This finish does not reflect direct light, giving it a discreet appearance that integrates well in environments where the lamp is meant to complement without drawing too much attention. Matte black is also a practical finish: it does not show fingerprints as easily as glossy finishes.

The green textile shade is the element that defines the personality of this wall light. It is not a bold green, but a tone that adds presence without dominating the space. Against a wall in neutral tones, it works as a controlled colour accent. In a room with warmer elements or wood, the green of the shade creates a pleasant contrast that brings life to the ensemble without feeling forced.

The upper ring is a design element with a specific function. The light that escapes through this opening rises towards the ceiling and creates a diffuse halo that visually enlarges the perception of the space. This indirect upward projection is particularly useful in hallways, where a single ceiling lamp does not always distribute light well, or in a bedroom where a more relaxed atmosphere is sought without sacrificing functional lighting.

In the living room, this wall light can work as a complement to the main lighting. Installed at an intermediate height on the wall, it directs light both downwards onto a reading or relaxation area and upwards, creating that characteristic soft reflection. In the dining room, it can be placed on a side wall to create a more intimate atmosphere than that offered by a single overhead lamp.

In the bathroom, provided that humidity conditions allow it and the installation is carried out in an appropriate area in accordance with electrical regulations, a wall light of these characteristics adds a touch of personality that more elaborately styled bathrooms appreciate. The combination of matte black and green textile fits well with stone finishes, dark tiles, or natural materials.

The wall light also works in industrial-style environments or in spaces influenced by Nordic design, where contrasts between metal structures and natural textures are common. The textile shade provides the warmth that environments with a lot of metal or smooth surfaces often need.

With dimensions of 392 mm in height and 265 mm in depth, the wall light occupies a moderate amount of space on the wall and does not interfere with movement in transit areas. Its weight of 1.67 kg makes it easy to anchor on most standard walls.

Questions and answers

Does the SAVOY wall light include the E27 LED bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. The wall light uses an E27 socket and accepts a maximum power of 15 W. The E27 LED bulb must be purchased separately before installing the lamp.

Does the upper ring of the lamp project light onto the ceiling or is it purely a decorative element?

The ring has a real function: it allows part of the light to escape upwards and reflect off the ceiling. This creates an indirect lighting effect that visually enlarges the space and softens the atmosphere of the room.

Is the SAVOY wall light compatible with the standard domestic electrical network in Spain?

Yes. The lamp operates within a voltage range of 100 V to 240 V, which covers the standard voltage of 230 V used in Spain and most of Europe.
