Overview

The SAMBA wall light by FARO is an interior lamp designed for those looking for a functional light source with its own character. Its yellow-trimmed shade contrasts with the matte black body, giving it a clear visual presence without the need for additional decorative elements. It is a wall-mounted lamp that serves a dual purpose: it illuminates and defines the space where it is placed.

This wall light fits well in bedrooms, living rooms and dining rooms where a directed light source is desired, without relying solely on central lighting. It is also conceived as a practical solution for hospitality projects, where durability and visual consistency are important factors.

FARO is a Spanish lighting brand with a long track record in interior design. Its SAMBA line is part of the collections developed by Faro Lab, aimed at balancing form and functionality in residential and professional spaces.

Installation and specifications

This wall light is mounted directly on the wall using standard fixings. Before installation, check that the surface is solid and can support the weight of the assembly. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified professional, especially if the existing wiring needs to be adapted. The accepted voltage range is wide — from 100V to 240V — making it compatible with standard domestic installations. The lamp does not include a bulb, so you will need to purchase an E27 LED type separately.

For maintenance, clean the body surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products that could damage the matte black steel finish. The yellow shade can be cleaned gently to preserve its colour. Do not handle the wall light while the electrical installation is connected.

Design and use

The SAMBA wall light has a solid steel construction, which provides stability and durability in everyday use. The matte black finish of the body does not reflect ambient light, which helps draw attention to the shade and the beam of light it projects. The yellow-trimmed shade is the element that sets this lamp apart within its category: it is not a neutral or discreet tone, but a colour accent that can act as a focal point on light-coloured walls or as a counterpoint in darker interiors.

In a daily-use room, this wall light works well as a reading light or as a complement to general lighting. Placed at the right height beside the bed, it offers a comfortable light source without needing a bedside table lamp that takes up space. In the living room, it can be installed on one or both sides of a sofa or a decorative wall element, reinforcing the lighting distribution of the space. In the dining room, a pair of symmetrical wall lights can balance the light from a central lamp and add warmth to the atmosphere during meals.

The lamp can also be integrated into hallways where a functional light source is needed without visually overwhelming the space. In passageways, the compact size of the wall light — 290 mm high and 215 mm long — allows it to be installed without interfering with movement. Its depth of 250 mm is the figure to bear in mind if the available wall space is limited.

In bathrooms, this type of wall light can be used in areas that meet the corresponding electrical requirements for that environment. If the bathroom is large and has a vanity area separate from the wet area, the lamp can integrate well as a light source at the mirror or in a transition zone. In larger bathrooms, the contrast between the matte black and the yellow can provide a design touch that sets the tone of the space.

Beyond the strictly residential setting, the SAMBA wall light is also designed for hospitality projects: boutique hotels, rural accommodation or rental spaces where stylish lighting is sought without sacrificing practicality. In these types of contexts, the combination of robust materials and a distinctive finish helps create coherent, easy-to-maintain atmospheres.

As for combining with other elements, the matte black body finish integrates well with materials such as dark wood, brushed metal or lacquered surfaces. The yellow of the shade can complement warm textiles or decorative elements in earthy tones. Avoiding too many colour accents in the same space helps the wall light maintain its prominence without creating visual overload.

Questions and answers

Is the E27 LED bulb included with the SAMBA wall light?

No, the wall light does not include a bulb. You need to purchase separately an E27 LED bulb with a maximum power of 15 W.

Can the SAMBA wall light be installed in a bathroom?

It depends on the area of the bathroom. This wall light is not classified with IP protection for wet zones, so it must be installed only in dry areas or areas with low exposure to humidity, such as the vanity area away from the shower or bathtub.

Is the wall light's voltage compatible with standard domestic electrical installations in Spain?

Yes. The wall light accepts a voltage range of 100V to 240V, which easily covers the standard mains voltage in Spain and in most European countries.
