Overview

NILO is a wall light designed to illuminate the bathroom with soft, well-distributed light. It mounts directly on the wall, next to the mirror, and emits light both upward and downward, which eliminates harsh shadows in the area where lighting matters most: the face, the sink, the mirror.

The light has a matte black finish and a clean silhouette, with no decorative elements to distract. It works well in modern bathrooms, but also fits in spaces with a more neutral or updated classic style. The lamp already includes an integrated LED light source, so there is no need to look for bulbs separately.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior and exterior luminaires. Their products are designed for real domestic use, with attention to detail in finishes and material quality.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, make sure the electrical circuit is switched off at the breaker panel. It is wall-mounted, so it is worth checking the wall type before choosing anchors. In bathrooms, pay attention to the installation zone according to electrical safety regulations for wet areas. If you have any doubts about the connection point, it is advisable to seek the help of an electrician.

For maintenance, clean the body surface with a soft, dry cloth. The opal diffuser can accumulate dust over time; a slightly damp cloth is sufficient to keep it in good condition. Do not use abrasive products or solvents on the matte black finish, as they can damage the surface.

Design and use

The NILO wall light is made with an aluminium body, a lightweight and durable material that holds its finish well over time. The matte black does not reflect direct light, giving the fixture a discreet and uniform appearance on the wall. The opal PMMA diffuser distributes light evenly along the 900 mm length of the light, with no bright spots or shadow areas.

The colour temperature of 3000K produces a warm white light, close to traditional incandescent light. It is a tone that is comfortable for the bathroom, where lighting directly influences how the face is perceived in the mirror. The two-directional projection, upward and downward, helps ensure that the light is not concentrated at a single point, but covers the area around the mirror well.

In the bathroom, the lamp is usually placed at eye level, above the mirror or on one of its sides. This position makes the most of the dual light emission and avoids the backlighting effect generated by some ceiling-mounted luminaires. For those who apply make-up, shave, or simply need to see themselves clearly in the mirror each morning, this light distribution makes a practical difference.

Although the NILO wall light is designed primarily for bathrooms, its simple style makes it compatible with other spaces in the home. In the bedroom it can work as a bedside light, especially if a dark finish that does not stand out too much is desired. In the living room, mounted on a side wall, it provides ambient light without taking up space. It is also a valid option for long hallways, where the length of the fixture allows a wide area to be covered from a single installation point.

In high-traffic hallways, the lamp can be installed on the wall at a medium height, where it illuminates both the floor and the ceiling, helping the space appear larger. In the dining room, if used as supplementary light on a side wall, it adds warmth to the atmosphere without competing with the main luminaire.

The design of the wall light is intentionally neutral. There are no eye-catching shapes or finishes that draw attention on their own. This makes it easy to combine with different styles: it works alongside white tiles in a classic bathroom, with coloured walls in a more contemporary room, or alongside materials such as wood in a more natural setting. The matte black body contrasts well with light surfaces and integrates naturally into darker spaces.

The SMD LED light source is already included, and the voltage of 100V–240V makes it compatible with standard electrical installations in Spain and other countries. There is no need to look for adapters or additional parts to get it up and running.

Questions and answers

Does the NILO wall light emit light in only one direction or in several directions?

The wall light emits light in two directions: upward and downward. This allows for a more even distribution around the mirror and reduces shadows in the area of use.

What are the dimensions of the wall light and how does this affect installation on the wall?

The wall light is 900 mm long and 40 mm tall, with a depth of 60 mm. Before installing it, it is advisable to measure the available space on the wall to ensure it fits correctly next to the mirror or in the chosen area.

Is a colour temperature of 3000K suitable for the bathroom?

Yes. 3000K produces a warm white light that is comfortable for everyday use in front of the mirror. It is a tone that does not distort colour perception and adapts well to family bathrooms.
