Overview

The MAY wall light by FARO is a circular wall lamp that works well in very different spaces. It can be installed on the wall or directly on the ceiling as a flush mount, which provides considerable flexibility when planning lighting. Thanks to its IP44 protection, it is also suitable for the bathroom, something not all models in this category offer.

The lamp has an opal glass diffuser that distributes light evenly, without bright spots or harsh shadows. The warm tone of 2700K creates a calm atmosphere, suitable for a bedroom, living room, or hallway alike. The wall light comes in black, with a steel structure, and has a finish that fits with different interior styles without forcing anything.

FARO is a Spanish brand with experience in home lighting. Their products combine technical criteria and attention to design, with real spaces and people in mind who are looking for a durable and well-executed solution.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, it is recommended to mark the anchor points carefully before making any holes. The fixing must be done on a firm surface, whether it is a masonry wall, drywall with a suitable plug, or a ceiling when used as a flush mount. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified installer. Before starting any work, make sure to cut the power at the electrical panel.

To clean the lamp, use a soft, dry cloth. The diffuser glass can be cleaned with a slightly damp cloth, without abrasive products or solvents. Do not touch the light source directly with your fingers. Since it includes a built-in LED, it is not necessary to replace the bulb regularly during its normal service life.

Design and use

The MAY wall light has a circular design with compact dimensions: 120 mm in diameter and 80 mm in height. It is a compact lamp that does not take up visual space, yet performs its function well. The black steel body gives it solidity and a clean appearance. The opal glass diffuser is the element that defines how the light is perceived: it softens it and distributes it evenly across the surface it illuminates.

The color temperature of 2700K corresponds to warm light, similar to that of a traditional bulb. This type of lighting is comfortable for spaces where time is spent resting or conversing. In a bedroom, that warm tone helps create a more relaxed atmosphere at night. In a living room or dining room, the same warmth gives the space a more welcoming feel without the need to add other decorative elements.

The ability to install it in the bathroom as well considerably expands its usefulness. Many conventional wall lights are not prepared for humid environments, but the IP44 rating of this model allows it. It can be placed next to the mirror or in the sink area, providing diffuse lighting that does not glare. It also works well in hallways, where ceilings tend to be low and direct light can be uncomfortable. A wall light in a hallway resolves transit lighting without taking up space in the center of the ceiling.

The kitchen is another space where this type of lamp finds its place, especially in work areas or above shelves where a specific light point is needed without installing a ceiling fixture. In the kitchen, surface wall lighting helps to complement the general light and eliminate shadows in frequently used areas.

The black finish of the structure allows the wall light to fit with modern-style interiors, with wrought iron elements, with black and white combinations, or with materials such as concrete and metal. It also integrates well in more neutral environments where the color of the wall light acts as a detail without excessive prominence. The MAY series is available in five different finishes, making it easy to choose the one that best matches the color palette of each room.

The total weight is 0.4 kg, which makes installation easy and does not require special anchors on most domestic surfaces. The COB LED light source is already included, so there is no need to look for a compatible bulb separately. The voltage range of 100V to 240V makes it compatible with standard electrical installations in Spain and other countries.

In terms of design, the circular shape is one of the most versatile. It does not impose a specific orientation and adapts well both horizontally and vertically on the wall. The lamp does not cast hard shadows thanks to the opal diffuser, making it useful in spaces where ambient light is important, such as a dining room or a reading area in the living room.

Questions and answers
