Overview

MAGRITTE is a wall light designed to illuminate paintings and works of art with precision. It mounts directly on the wall and directs the beam of light exactly where it is needed, thanks to its adjustable head. It is a lamp designed to go unnoticed: its shape is clean, without ornamentation, so that all attention falls on what it illuminates.

This type of wall light is useful in a living room with art collections, in a bedroom where a special painting hangs, or in a hallway where pictures are part of the décor. It also works well in more formal spaces such as a dining room with decorative pieces on the wall.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in interior lighting. Its products combine quality materials with careful design, conceived to integrate into different types of spaces without being intrusive.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this wall light, make sure the surface is solid and capable of supporting the weight of the assembly. Since it is a wall-mounted lamp, it is advisable to locate the appropriate plugs or anchors depending on the type of wall. The driver is included, so it does not need to be purchased separately. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, the most prudent approach is to hire an electrician to make the connection to the mains.

To keep the wall light in good condition, clean the aluminium and steel body with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the aged gold finish. The PMMA diffuser is cleaned in the same way, without excessive pressure. Do not handle the lamp while connected to the power supply.

Design and use

The MAGRITTE wall light has a compact and discreet structure. The body is made of aluminium and steel, with an aged gold finish that gives it a distinctive character without being showy. It is a warm, slightly weathered tone that integrates well both in interiors with classic elements and in more contemporary spaces where a subtle point of contrast is sought.

The PMMA diffuser in an opal finish distributes light smoothly, without creating harsh reflections or glare. This is especially important when illuminating a work of art, as poorly directed or overly intense light can distort colours or create unwanted glare on the glass protecting the painting. The colour temperature of 3000K provides a warm white light, close to that of traditional lamps, which enhances the perception of warm tones and gives the space a welcoming atmosphere.

The adjustable head allows the angle of the beam to be directed precisely onto the illuminated object. This is a practical advantage when the arrangement of pictures on the wall is changed or when the lamp is reused at another point in the same space. There is no need to reinstall the wall light — simply reorient the spotlight.

In a living room, this type of lighting adds visual depth to the wall without the need for complex installations. A well-placed wall light above a painting can turn that corner into the visual focal point of the room. In a dining room, it serves a similar purpose: if there is a framed work on the main wall, the lamp gives it presence without stealing the spotlight from the space as a whole.

In a bedroom, the wall light can work above a decorated headboard or alongside a large-format photograph. The warm 3000K light helps create a calm atmosphere, suitable for rest. It is also an effective solution in hallways: hallways are often spaces without natural light where pictures go unnoticed. An adjustable wall light completely changes that perception.

In a kitchen with an access area or integrated entrance hall, it can be used to highlight a decorative element on the wall. Likewise, in a carefully designed bathroom featuring an artistic piece or framed mirror, the wall light provides functional illumination with an elegant finish.

The low weight of the assembly, under one kilogram, makes handling easier during installation. Its dimensions are proportionate for medium or large paintings, without being excessive in smaller spaces. The included LED lamp does not require frequent replacement and the integrated driver simplifies the electrical installation.

As for combining with other elements, the aged gold finish pairs well with dark wood surfaces, gold or bronze frames, and also with walls in neutral tones such as off-white or warm grey. In an environment with vintage details or updated classic-style furniture, the MAGRITTE fits naturally without requiring any other changes to the space.

Questions and answers

Does the MAGRITTE wall light include the LED driver or does it need to be purchased separately?

The driver is included with the product. No additional components need to be purchased for the basic electrical installation.

Can the head of the wall light be adjusted after installation, or only at the time of mounting?

The head is adjustable and can be repositioned at any time, even after installation. This allows the light to be redirected if the position of the painting or illuminated object is changed.

Is the aged gold finish on the body resistant to normal indoor use?

Yes. The aluminium and steel body with an aged gold finish is designed for indoor use and maintains its appearance with regular cleaning using a dry cloth. It is advisable to avoid harsh chemical products that could alter the tone of the finish.
