Overview

JULIET is a wall light with an integrated reading lamp, designed for bedrooms where directed light is needed without having to get up to turn on another lamp. It is mounted directly on the wall, near the headboard, and allows reading or working from bed without disturbing whoever is sleeping next to you. It is a common format in double bedrooms, single rooms, and also in hotel rooms or private accommodation.

The wall light includes an integrated USB type C charging port, which allows charging a phone or other devices directly from the lamp, without the need for additional sockets on the bedside table. The body is made of aluminium and steel with a chrome finish, materials that combine sturdiness with a clean, modern look.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products are designed for real spaces, with attention to detail and durability.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, it is advisable to have a power outlet near the headboard area or recessed wiring in the wall. As it is a surface-mounted wall luminaire, the installation process requires drilling and anchoring the base to the wall using the elements included by the manufacturer. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified professional, especially if there is no existing connection box at the chosen point.

The chrome surface can be cleaned with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the metallic finish should be avoided. The lamp should not be handled while the power is connected. As it is designed for indoor use, it should not be installed in areas exposed to direct moisture such as showers or outdoors.

Design and use

JULIET combines two functions in a single unit: it illuminates and charges. The integrated reading lamp directs light where it is needed, with a colour temperature of 3000K that produces a warm tone, similar to classic incandescent light. This type of light is more pleasant for reading before sleep because it does not interfere as much with rest as cold light sources do. The included LED SMD source has a power of 3W, sufficient for a localised reading spotlight in a bedroom.

The USB type C port integrated into the body of the wall light is one of the most practical details of this model. It allows keeping a phone or tablet charging while in use, without the need for extension leads or visible power strips on the bedside table. In a room where visual order matters, this detail makes a real difference.

The chrome finish gives the lamp a clean, somewhat timeless look. It is not a finish that draws particular attention, but it does not go unnoticed either: it reflects the surrounding light and integrates well with headboards in white, grey, black or with metallic elements in silver tones. It is a modern wall light in its concept, without resorting to eye-catching shapes or unusual materials.

The aluminium and steel body keeps the unit lightweight, with a net weight of 0.43 kg, which makes it easy to fix to the wall without the need for complex anchors. The dimensions — 370 mm in height and 370 mm in depth — give it presence without taking up too much visual space. The articulated arm or the adjustable design typical of wall reading lights allows the direction of the light to be adjusted according to the position in bed.

This wall light works well in medium or small bedrooms where there is no space for floor lamps next to the bed. It also fits in hallways where soft, focused light is wanted in a specific area, although its main function is reading at rest. In bathrooms with sufficient space next to the mirror or dressing area, a wall light of this type can be used as supplementary lighting, although it is always advisable to verify that the environment does not have direct moisture.

The universal voltage of 100V–240V means this model can be used in different countries without an adapter, making it a valid option also for tourist accommodation projects or apartments in areas with different electrical standards.

As for combining with other bedroom elements, the lamp in a chrome finish pairs well with white lacquered furniture, glass surfaces and textiles in neutral tones. If the room has light wood elements or beige tones, the chrome provides a cooler counterpoint that can balance the overall look well. It is not a strongly rustic or Nordic-style wall light, but rather a more neutral design that adapts to various types of modern settings.

Questions and answers

Does the JULIET wall light include the light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The LED SMD light source is included. It is not necessary to purchase any additional bulb to get the lamp up and running.

Does the integrated USB C port charge modern devices directly, without adapters?

The wall light incorporates a USB type C port, compatible with most current charging cables for phones and tablets. It does not require format adapters, although the charging speed will depend on the specifications of the port itself.

Can this wall light be installed in a bathroom?

The JULIET model is classified for general indoor use. It is not specified for areas with direct moisture such as showers or bathrooms without adequate ventilation. For installation in a bathroom, it is advisable to consult with an electrician to verify that the installation point is outside the protection zones required by regulations.
