Overview

DANUBIO is a wall light designed for spaces where humidity is a daily reality. Its IP44 rating makes it suitable for installation in the bathroom without concern: it protects against water splashes from any direction. It is a lamp designed for those who want good light in the bathroom without sacrificing a refined finish.

The wall light operates with integrated 18W LED technology, meaning there is no need to find a compatible bulb or worry about the socket type. The light it emits has a colour temperature of 2700K, a warm tone that is pleasant in grooming and relaxation spaces. The opal diffuser distributes that light evenly, without bright spots or harsh shadows.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Their products combine solid technical criteria with a design that fits different types of environments. DANUBIO is a good example of that balance.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, a junction box in the wall or access to recessed wiring is required. Fixing is done directly onto the vertical surface. Since this is a bathroom luminaire with IP44, it is advisable to respect the safety zones established by current electrical regulations: do not install in zone 0 or zone 1, and verify that the installation zone is compatible with this rating. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in humid environments.

The aluminium body with a bronze finish does not require special products for cleaning. A soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient to remove dust or surface marks. Avoid abrasive or acid-based products. The opal glass diffuser is cleaned in the same way, taking care not to apply excessive pressure. Do not handle the luminaire with the power connected.

Design and use

DANUBIO has an elongated and discreet shape. At 575 mm long and just 80 mm deep, it adapts well to walls with limited free space. The aluminium body gives it solidity without adding unnecessary weight, and the bronze finish lends it a warm presence that does not feel overdone. It is not a lamp that draws attention on its own, but one that complements what is already in the environment.

The opal glass of the diffuser serves a clear purpose: to soften the LED light so there is no direct glare. In a bathroom, this matters especially when using the mirror. The light is distributed along the entire piece, which helps illuminate the space more evenly than a point source.

This wall light fits well above the bathroom mirror, whether centred or in a lateral arrangement. It also works as supplementary lighting in hallways where continuity of illumination is needed without installing ceiling light points. In that type of passageway, a wall lamp with good light distribution is more practical than a ceiling-mounted solution.

The bronze finish of the body pairs well with taps, frames and accessories in the same tone, which is common in bathrooms with a more classic style or natural materials. It can also coexist without issue with black or gold finishes, depending on the rest of the furnishings. In a modern bathroom with dark tiles, the bronze of the wall light provides an interesting contrast without breaking the coherence of the overall scheme.

Although its primary function is in the bathroom, this wall light has a sufficiently neutral design to consider its use in hallways, bedrooms or even in a dressing table area within a walk-in wardrobe. The warm 2700K light is suitable for any of these spaces, as it creates a calm atmosphere without losing functional clarity.

SMD LED technology ensures restrained consumption for the 18W of power, with an extended lifespan that avoids having to think about replacements. Since the light source is already integrated, installation is straightforward and requires no additional steps.

Questions and answers

Is the DANUBIO wall light suitable for installation directly above the bathroom mirror with exposure to steam?

Yes. The IP44 rating of this lamp indicates protection against water splashes from any direction, making it compatible with humid environments such as the bathroom. However, it must not be installed in areas of direct immersion or in an open shower. For use above a mirror or in areas close to the washbasin, it meets the usual requirements.

Can the LED in this wall lamp be replaced if it fails?

The SMD LED light source is integrated into the wall light and is not designed to be replaced independently. In the event of an LED failure within the warranty period, it is handled as an incident involving the complete product. This is common in this type of modern luminaire, where LED integration is part of the design.

Could the 575 mm length be excessive for a small bathroom?

It depends on the available space. For compact bathrooms with short walls, it is advisable to first measure the free width above the washbasin or mirror. At 575 mm, this lamp fits well with medium or large mirrors. In very small spaces, it can be placed on a side wall where there is more available length.
