Overview

COTTON is a wall light from FARO, designed for those who want to add a characterful light source to any corner of the home. Its square shape and fabric shade make it a piece that brings warmth without being eye-catching. It is a lamp that works well in a bedroom, living room, hallway, or even a well-ventilated bathroom.

The main advantage of this wall light is that it combines a simple structure with a finish that adapts to many styles. It does not require much wall space, and its diffused light creates a pleasant atmosphere without glare. For those looking for decorative lighting that does not overload the ceiling with light points, this model is a straightforward option.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior luminaires. Its products are oriented towards real domestic use, with durable materials and a design that does not go out of style quickly.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, check that the wall has a suitable electrical connection point. As this is a surface-mounted wall luminaire, it is recommended that the installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Make sure to cut the power before any handling. The lamp accepts voltages between 100V and 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical network in Spain and most countries. Remember that the E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately, respecting the indicated maximum wattage of 15W.

To clean the steel body in matte white finish, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish. The fabric shade is best cleaned with a dry cloth or a soft low-pressure brush. Do not wet the shade directly. Always disconnect the lamp from the power supply before cleaning it.

Design and use

The COTTON wall light has a matte white lacquered steel structure that provides stability without adding visual weight. At just 200 mm high and 200 mm long, it takes up little wall space and adapts well to rooms of different sizes. Its depth of 100 mm allows the fabric shade to be well proportioned relative to the metal body.

The fabric shade is the most recognisable element of this model. It diffuses light softly, without creating harsh shadows or annoying reflections. This makes it a particularly suitable wall light for spaces where a relaxed atmosphere is desired: a bedroom where intense light is bothersome at certain hours, a living room where a cosy reading area is wanted, or a hallway where direct lighting is too harsh.

It can also work well in the bathroom, provided the installation is carried out in an area away from the shower or bathtub, following electrical safety regulations for wet zones. Its compact profile allows it to be placed in smaller spaces without looking out of proportion.

In the kitchen, this wall light fits as a supplementary or decorative light in areas such as the entrance, a utility room, or an integrated dining area. It is not intended as a primary work light, but as a complement that adds warmth and character to the atmosphere. In a dining room, placed at the correct height, it can reinforce the sense of intimacy sought during those after-dinner hours.

The matte white finish combines easily with light furniture, neutral walls, or pastel tones. It also contrasts well with darker surfaces, where the metal body gains visibility. In terms of style, this wall light leans towards a modern, clean aesthetic, without elements that tie it to a single type of décor. It can coexist with straight-lined furniture, natural textiles, or wooden elements without looking out of place.

The E27 LED bulb used will directly influence the type of light the lamp produces. A warm-temperature bulb will accentuate the cosy effect of the fabric shade. A neutral light bulb will give a more functional result. This ability to adjust the outcome depending on the chosen bulb is a practical advantage for those who want to fine-tune the atmosphere of each room.

The net weight of just 0.2 kg makes installation easier and reduces the demand on the wall anchor point. It is a lightweight lamp that does not require special reinforcement on most standard surfaces. In narrow hallways, where lateral space is limited, its square shape and contained depth mean it does not encroach on the passageway.

Questions and answers

Is the fabric shade of the COTTON wall light removable to make cleaning easier?

The fabric shade is part of the lamp assembly. To clean it, the recommended approach is to use a dry cloth or a soft brush without removing the piece. It should not be wetted directly or exposed to liquid cleaning products.

What type of bulb is compatible with this wall light and is it included in the package?

This wall light uses an E27 base bulb with a maximum wattage of 15W. The LED bulb is not included in the package and must be purchased separately. It is recommended to use an LED bulb that does not exceed the indicated maximum wattage.

Is the voltage of the COTTON lamp compatible with the standard domestic electrical network in Spain?

Yes. This wall light operates in a voltage range of 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the standard domestic electrical network in Spain and most of Europe without the need for adapters.
