Overview

The CONGA wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed to create a warm and tidy atmosphere in interior spaces. With its beige fabric shade and matte white body, it works well in rooms where direct light is too intense. It is designed as a surface-mounted luminaire with a built-in reader, making it especially useful beside a bed or next to a reading armchair.

The wall light has balanced dimensions: 280 mm high, 215 mm long and 260 mm deep. It does not take up too much space on the wall, but it has enough presence to define an area within the room. The steel body in matte white finish gives it solidity without adding visual weight.

FARO is a Spanish company with a long track record in interior and exterior lighting. Its FARO Lab line brings together collections with a more careful focus on detail and material combinations. CONGA is part of that line.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, the base must be fixed directly to the wall using the appropriate anchoring elements. Before starting, check that the surface is solid and can support the weight of the assembly. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified professional, as it involves working with the installation wiring. Make sure to cut the power at the electrical panel before any intervention. The lamp accepts voltages between 100V and 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid in Spain and in most countries. Remember that the E27 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately, with a maximum power of 15W.

To clean the wall light, use a dry or slightly damp cloth on the steel body. The beige fabric shade can be gently brushed to remove accumulated dust. Avoid aggressive chemical products or solvents, as they can damage the body's finish or deform the fabric. Do not handle the lamp with the power connected, nor touch the bulb immediately after switching off, as it may be hot.

Design and use

The CONGA wall light responds to a simple idea: a wall lamp that provides light where it is needed, without drawing too much attention to itself. The beige fabric shade filters the light so that the result is soft and diffused. There are no harsh glares or overly bright areas. This makes it suitable for a bedroom where you want to read without disturbing others, or for a living room where the main lighting is already taken care of and you want to add a more intimate light point.

The matte white steel body is sturdy and at the same time discreet. In a bedroom with light tones, it practically blends into the wall. In a living room with dark furniture, it creates a clean contrast. The beige fabric shade adds a texture that prevents the wall light from looking too cold or technical. It is a balance between the functional and the decorative, without forcing either extreme.

As for the spaces where it fits well, the bedroom is the most obvious. A wall light with a reader allows you to have the light exactly where you need it without taking up space on the bedside table. But CONGA also works in the living room, where it can complement the general lighting or mark a reading area next to an armchair. In a dining room, installed at an intermediate height, it adds warmth without interfering with the main ceiling light.

Hallways are another space where this type of wall light makes sense. In a long hallway, a single ceiling lamp often leaves areas with shadows. Installing one or more wall lights along the way distributes the light more evenly and makes the space look larger. The design of CONGA, by not projecting light in all directions, allows the illumination to be directed downwards or to the sides depending on the orientation of the reader.

In hospitality projects, which is the use mentioned by the collection itself, the wall light beside the bed is a classic. Hotel rooms need a functional reading lamp that does not take up space on the bedside table and is easy to operate. CONGA meets these requirements with an appearance that does not look out of place in modern environments or in interiors with a warmer, more textile-focused approach.

The beige fabric shade also pairs well with other natural materials present in the space. Wooden tables, linen or wool textiles, light wood floors or earth-toned paving all fit effortlessly with the look of this lamp. The wall light does not impose a style, but rather adapts to what is already in the room.

As for the bulb, the E27 LED cap is the most common on the market. There is a wide variety of options available, from cool white light to very warm tones. For a bedroom or living room, a colour temperature close to 2700K usually gives the best results with fabric shades like the one on this wall light.

Questions and answers

Does the CONGA wall light include the E27 LED bulb in the package?

No, the bulb is not included. The wall light is compatible with E27 LED cap bulbs with a maximum power of 15W. You can choose the colour temperature that best suits the atmosphere you want to achieve in your bedroom or living room.

Is the voltage of the wall light compatible with the standard electrical installation in Spain?

Yes. The wall light operates in a range of 100V to 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid in Spain and in most European countries. You do not need any additional adapter or transformer.

Is the beige fabric shade a fixed part of the wall light or can it be removed for cleaning?

The fabric shade is part of the wall light assembly. For cleaning, it is recommended to use a soft brush or a dry cloth to remove dust without wetting the fabric or applying products that could damage the fibres or alter the beige colour of the shade.
