Overview

CALMA is a wall light by FARO, designed for those who want elegant and functional lighting without complications. Its elongated shape and brushed gold finish make it a piece that fits well in a modern living room, a bedroom, a bathroom, or a hallway. What makes it especially practical is the possibility of installing it in a vertical or horizontal position, depending on the available space and the effect you want to achieve.

The lamp comes with a bulb included, which means that once it is mounted on the wall, it is ready to use. There is no need to look for compatible light sources or make additional calculations. FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in interior and exterior lighting, known for taking care of both the visual appearance of its products and their long-term performance.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, make sure the electrical current is switched off at the distribution board. It is fixed directly to the wall, so it is advisable to identify the location of the cables in the wall beforehand and mark the anchor points precisely. Since the body measures 500 mm in length, it is important to leave enough space on both sides of the installation point. If you have any doubts about the type of plug or screw suitable for your type of wall, consult an electrician before starting.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the brushed gold finish or the glass. Do not handle the bulb while the lamp is on or immediately after turning it off, as it may be hot. Periodically check that the anchors remain secure and that the wiring shows no signs of wear.

Design and use

The CALMA wall light has a very restrained profile: just 25 mm in height and 80 mm in depth, meaning it sits close to the wall without protruding too much. This makes it especially useful in hallways or rooms where space is limited and a bulky lamp would be inconvenient. Despite its discreet dimensions, the 500 mm length gives it enough presence to function as a decorative element as well as a light source.

The body combines steel and glass, two materials that work well together in terms of durability and aesthetics. The steel provides structural solidity, while the glass allows light to be distributed in a soft and even manner. The brushed gold finish adds a warm note without feeling overdone. In a living room with neutral tones, this detail can be enough to give character to a wall without any further intervention.

The possibility of positioning it vertically or horizontally opens up many options when planning the lighting. In a bedroom, for example, two wall lights installed vertically on either side of the bed create a balanced and practical composition. In a bathroom, placed horizontally above the mirror, it provides frontal light that makes everyday tasks easier without creating annoying shadows. In a dining room, it can work as accent lighting on a side wall, complementing the main light source and creating a more welcoming atmosphere.

In hallways, where lighting tends to be functional and discreet, this wall light fits in effortlessly. Its slim profile does not interfere with movement and its warm 2700K light avoids the cold feeling that poorly lit hallways sometimes give. It is also a good option for the kitchen, especially when installed under upper cabinets or on a side wall, providing task lighting without taking up space on the worktop.

In terms of coexisting with other interior design elements, brushed gold works well with light wood, exposed concrete surfaces, and colour palettes that include whites, beiges, or soft greys. It can also be integrated into environments with vintage touches or in more contemporary design spaces where noble materials are mixed. The lamp does not impose a specific style, but rather adapts to the one that already exists in the room.

The included S14D LED light source operates at 2700K, which corresponds to a warm white tone. This type of light is the most common in rest and living areas because it reproduces colours well and creates a relaxed atmosphere. The consumption of 7 W is low, making the lamp efficient for daily use, especially if it is kept on for several hours at a time.

Questions and answers

Can the CALMA wall light be installed in both vertical and horizontal positions?

Yes. The design of CALMA allows you to choose the orientation at the time of installation. It can be placed horizontally, for example above a mirror in the bathroom, or vertically on either side of the bed in the bedroom. The orientation does not affect the functioning of the lamp.

Is the S14D LED bulb included with the wall light?

Yes, the bulb is included. The wall light arrives ready to install and connect, with no need to purchase the light source separately.

What are the exact dimensions of the wall light and how much free space does it need on the wall?

The wall light measures 500 mm in length, 25 mm in height, and 80 mm in depth. When installing it, it is advisable to leave some free space around those measurements so that the piece looks well proportioned and the heat generated by the lamp can dissipate without any issue.
