Overview

VENICE is a table lamp that fits well in different areas of the home: the living room, the bedroom, the dining room, or next to a desk. It works both as the main lighting in a reading area and as a secondary light source that adds character to a corner. Its handmade ceramic shade, crafted in a Barcelona workshop, sets it apart from mass-produced industrial options.

The collection was designed by Adolfo Abejón with the idea of creating comfortable atmospheres through well-chosen materials and craftsmanship. It is not a lamp that goes unnoticed, but it is not excessive either. It has a clear presence without dominating the space.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in interior lighting. Its products combine careful design with quality materials, and VENICE is a good example of that line of work.

Installation and specifications

To use this lamp, simply place it on a stable surface — a nightstand, a side table, or a desk — and plug it into the mains. No tools are required, nor does it need to be fixed to the ceiling or wall. Before installing the bulb, make sure the cable is disconnected. The lamp accepts an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W, which is not included and must be purchased separately.

The ceramic shade is delicate and should be handled with care. To clean it, use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents. The steel body with a matte black finish can be cleaned with a dry cloth. Do not leave the lamp switched on without a bulb installed, and do not expose it to direct moisture.

Design and use

The VENICE shade is made of white ceramic handcrafted in Barcelona. This means each piece has small variations inherent to the artisanal process — something that makes it unique and different from a standard production lamp. The ceramic diffuses light softly, without areas of intense glare, which is pleasant both in a bedroom and in the dining room.

The body is made of steel with a matte black finish, giving it stability and a visual contrast with the white shade. That combination of black and white works well in modern interiors as well as in spaces with more classic elements. It is not a strictly Nordic or industrial lamp — it sits at a midpoint that allows it to adapt effortlessly.

With a height of 575 mm, it has enough presence to be visible on a nightstand or a living room table without being bulky. Its depth of 454 mm gives it visual balance, and its weight of just over one and a half kilos keeps it stable on different surfaces.

VENICE works with an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W. Although the bulb is not included, any bulb with that fitting and within that wattage limit is suitable. The compatible voltage ranges from 100 V to 240 V, so it can be used in different countries without an adapter.

In the bedroom, placed on the nightstand, it creates a warm, localised light ideal for reading before sleep or simply for setting the mood without illuminating the entire room. In the living room, on a side table or in a corner, it acts as a secondary light source that complements the general lighting. It also works well on a desk where directed light is needed without the lamp taking up too much space.

The VENICE collection is available in several finishes: white, black, pink, cobalt blue, and striped. This allows you to choose the version that best suits the colour scheme of each space. A cobalt blue lamp can be the only element of colour in a neutral room. A white one blends in without drawing attention. The striped version adds a graphic touch without feeling overdone.

It is a piece that stands out but does not distort. Designed to last and to fit into different moments of the home — at night as ambient light, during the day as a decorative object on the nightstand or the dining table.

Questions and answers

Does the VENICE lamp require professional installation or can it be placed directly on the nightstand?

It does not require any kind of installation. It is a table lamp that simply rests on the surface — a nightstand, a dining table, or a desk — and is plugged into the socket. You only need to add an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W, which is not included.

Is the ceramic shade the same across all units or can it vary?

As it is handcrafted in a Barcelona workshop, each shade may present small differences in texture or finish. These variations are inherent to the handmade process and are not considered defects — they are part of the character of the piece.

Does the VENICE lamp include an LED bulb or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. The lamp is compatible with E27 LED bulbs of up to 15 W. The accepted voltage ranges from 100 V to 240 V, making it compatible with the standard electrical supply in Spain and most countries.
