Overview

The FARO REM lamp is a table luminaire designed for those looking for a clean design that never goes out of style. It works well in the bedroom, on the bedside table, on the desk, or as a light accent in the living room. It also fits into hospitality projects: hotel rooms, restaurants, spaces where a carefully considered atmosphere is sought without resorting to overly elaborate solutions.

The body is made of steel with an antique gold finish, giving it presence without being flashy. The shade is white, and that combination — golden structure, white shade — is one that effortlessly adapts to different interior styles. It needs nothing else around it to work well.

FARO is a brand with a strong track record in interior lighting. This collection, designed by Alex & Manel Lluscà, is part of a line where style and functionality go hand in hand. The REM lamp reflects this well: nothing is superfluous, nothing is missing.

Installation and specifications

Installing this table lamp requires no construction work or electrical intervention in the wall. Simply place it on a flat surface and plug it into a standard outlet. The bulb is not included: you need to purchase one with an E27 base, compatible with LED technology, with a maximum power of 15 W. The accepted voltage ranges from 100 V to 240 V, so it works with the standard electrical installation in Spain and most countries.

To clean the metal structure with an antique gold finish, a soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could alter the finish. The white shade can be cleaned with a dry or barely damp cloth. Do not connect the lamp if the cable shows visible damage, and keep the product out of reach of young children when in use.

Design and use

The REM collection was born with a specific idea: to create a lamp with its own personality without needing to impose its presence. The result is a table luminaire with a sleek body, minimalist base, and a balanced proportion between height and base. At 370 mm tall with a base of 150 x 150 mm, it occupies a discreet amount of space on any surface, whether the bedside table, the desk, or a shelf in the living room.

Steel is the main material of the body. It is durable, holds its shape well over time, and allows for precise finishes. The antique gold tone gives the lamp a character that is neither cold nor neutral: it has a warmth to it, a visual texture. It is not a golden lamp in the shiny, flashy sense. It is more restrained, closer to the finishes seen in vintage-inspired interior design or in environments that blend the classic with the contemporary.

The white shade serves two functions. The first is practical: it diffuses light gently into the immediate space, making it ideal as a bedside light in the bedroom or as a supplementary light source in the dining room. The second is aesthetic: the white balances the warm tone of the metallic finish and prevents the lamp from appearing too dark or visually heavy.

This bedside lamp works particularly well in bedrooms. On the nightstand, it creates a warm, defined zone of light without encroaching on the rest of the space. If you have two symmetrical bedside tables, two units of this lamp form a harmonious pair without the need to search for matching solutions. On the desk it also makes sense: it provides directed light to the work surface without taking up too much lateral space.

Outside the bedroom, the lamp fits well in a corner of the living room, on a console table or side table. It can be the light source that gives atmosphere to a space without the source being visible. In the dining room, one or two units on a sideboard or buffet create a more intimate atmosphere than the general ceiling light.

The REM collection is also designed for professional environments. In a hotel room, this bedside lamp adds that design touch that makes the space feel more refined. In a restaurant, above a bar or in a low-light seating area, it adds presence without overwhelming the atmosphere. The gold finish works well in contexts where a warm and distinctive touch is sought.

The LED light compatible with the E27 base allows you to manage energy consumption without sacrificing light quality. Since no bulb is included, you are free to choose the light tone that best suits the space: warmer for the bedroom, more neutral for the desk or dining room.

Questions and answers

Does the REM lamp accept bulbs of any wattage, or is there a limit?

The maximum accepted power is 15 W. It is recommended to use an LED bulb with an E27 base that does not exceed this limit. Using a higher-wattage bulb could generate excessive heat and is not indicated by the manufacturer.

Is the antique gold finish on the structure resistant to everyday use, or does it deteriorate over time?

The body is made of steel, a material that offers good durability. To keep the finish in good condition, simply clean the surface with a soft cloth and avoid abrasive products. With basic maintenance, the finish stays in good condition for a long time.

Can this lamp be used in the dining room, or is it only intended for the bedroom?

It is designed for different environments. It works well in the bedroom on the bedside table, but also in the dining room on a sideboard, in the living room, or in hospitality spaces such as restaurants or hotel rooms. Its timeless design makes it versatile.
