Overview

The MAMBO lamp by FARO is a table lamp designed for interior spaces where atmosphere matters as much as functionality. Its steel body in a matte black finish pairs with a rattan shade that filters light in a warm way, effortlessly creating a pleasant environment. It is a valid option for both the bedroom and the living room, and fits well in hospitality projects where a defined character is sought without sacrificing practicality.

The MAMBO table lamp addresses a specific need: providing directed light at a specific point, whether on a bedside table, a desk, or an auxiliary surface in the dining room. The design does not seek to draw excessive attention, but it does not go unnoticed either. The rattan shade adds texture and warmth to the whole, something that synthetic materials rarely achieve.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long track record in interior lighting. Its FARO Lab line brings together proposals with a carefully considered design language, oriented toward both residential use and contract and hospitality environments.

Installation and specifications

Getting this table lamp up and running requires no fixed installation or ceiling wiring work. Simply place it on a bedside table, a desk, or another stable surface, connect the cable to a standard power outlet, and insert an E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W, which is not included in the package. The universal voltage range of 100 V to 240 V makes it compatible with the Spanish electrical grid without the need for adapters.

To clean the steel body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte black finish. The rattan shade should be cleaned with a dry cloth or a soft brush to remove dust without moistening the material. Do not expose the lamp to environments with high humidity or place it near direct heat sources.

Design and use

The MAMBO collection was born within FARO Lab with a clear proposition: combining natural materials with metal structures to offer a modern lamp that does not rely on superfluous decorative elements. The result is a table lamp with its own character, where the rattan shade takes center stage.

Rattan is a material that works well with light. When the LED bulb is on, the interwoven fibers project patterns onto nearby surfaces, generating a warm atmosphere without feeling overdone. That quality sets it apart from fabric or glass shades, which distribute light more evenly but less expressively. On a bedside table, that effect is particularly noticeable: the room acquires a visual warmth that is well suited to rest.

The matte black steel body acts as a counterpoint to the rattan. It gives visual solidity to the whole and adds a contemporary touch that allows the lamp to be integrated into environments with a Nordic, rustic, or industrial aesthetic without clashing. It is not a neutral piece, but it does not dominate the space either. A light wood side table, a dark shelf, or a marble surface all work equally well as a base.

In the living room, the MAMBO lamp can be placed on an auxiliary table next to the sofa, providing ambient light without needing to turn on the general lighting. It also works as a secondary light source in the dining room, on a sideboard or credenza, where its height of nearly 50 centimeters gives it enough presence not to get lost among other decorative objects.

For those who work from home, a lamp with a rattan shade on the desk offers an alternative to articulated arm desk lamps. The light is more diffuse, less technical, making it suitable for spaces where work coexists with rest or reading. It is not a precision lamp, but one of oriented ambiance.

In hospitality contexts, the MAMBO collection responds well to the demand for pieces with visual identity and no maintenance complications. Boutique hotels, tourist apartments, or coworking spaces with rest areas find in this table lamp a solution that conveys attention to detail without requiring a large investment in decoration. Compatibility with any standard E27 LED bulb also simplifies replacement management.

The bedside table is perhaps the place where this lamp finds its most natural use. Placed to the right or left of the bed, it accompanies nighttime reading without causing glare. The shade filters the light gently, which is comfortable when the rest of the room is in low light. Its weight of 1.67 kg makes it stable on any flat surface without the need for anchoring.

The matte black finish of the structure does not easily collect fingerprints and maintains a neat appearance with minimal cleaning. That makes it a practical option for those seeking aesthetics without demanding maintenance. The LED light accepted by the E27 socket reduces consumption and extends the lifespan of the bulb, which in the long run means fewer replacements.

Questions and answers

Does the MAMBO lamp include a bulb, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. The lamp accepts any E27 LED bulb of up to 15 W, which can be purchased separately at any lighting store or large retail outlet.

Is the lamp body made entirely of steel, or does it include other materials?

The structural body is made of steel with a matte black finish. The shade is made of rattan, which adds natural texture and allows light to filter through the weave in a warm way.

Is the MAMBO lamp compatible with the standard electrical grid in Spain?

Yes. The accepted voltage range is 100 V to 240 V, making it fully compatible with the Spanish 220 V electrical grid without the need for any adapter.
