Overview

INVITING is a table lamp designed by the studio Bohman&Folenius for FARO. It was born with a concrete idea: that the light adapts to the person using it, not the other way around. The head rotates on its horizontal and vertical axis, so you can direct the beam exactly where you need it, whether over a work table, toward a shelf, or toward the headboard of a bed.

The intensity is regulated by sliding the upper ring along the head, and the color temperature is adjusted by turning the integrated wheel. This allows you to go from warm light for nighttime rest to cooler light for concentration, without changing lamps or installing anything additional.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in home lighting. Its catalog combines European design with carefully crafted materials, and the INVITING family is a good example of that line of work.

Installation and specifications

To install the lamp in table mode, place it on a flat, stable surface that can support the weight of the body. The cable should remain tension-free and away from areas of foot traffic. If you prefer to use it as a clamp, the included accessory allows you to attach it to the edge of a desk, a shelf, or a bed headboard frame, without the need to drill or anchor anything.

The aluminum surface can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte white finish. Do not handle the head with the lamp on for extended periods, as the body may accumulate some heat. Always unplug the lamp before cleaning it.

Design and use

The body of INVITING is made of aluminum and steel, two materials that combine lightness with structural stability. The matte white finish gives it a clean, neutral look that fits well in contemporary interiors. It does not draw attention to itself, but it does not go unnoticed either: it has an orderly silhouette that integrates easily into different styles, from Nordic design to a more industrial or modern atmosphere.

The transparent PMMA diffuser reveals the light source and allows the beam to project in a direct and controlled manner. This makes it especially useful over a work table, where concentrated lighting is needed without annoying reflections on the screen or book.

One of the defining characteristics of this lamp is its range of movement. The head articulates both horizontally and vertically, allowing you to point it toward a side shelf, tilt it toward the nightstand, or direct it upward for more diffuse light. That adaptability is what makes it fit different contexts without seeming forced.

The color temperature adjustment is another point worth noting. In the range of 2700 to 4800 K, the lamp can function as warm light for reading at night in the bedroom or as more neutral light for working during the day. It is not common to find that capability in a compact, domestic-use lamp.

In the living room, it can serve to illuminate a reading area next to the sofa or to highlight a corner with books or plants. In the dining room, it works well as a supplementary lamp on a sideboard or side table, especially at dinners where a more intimate atmosphere than general lighting is desired. In a study or work area, the clamp accessory allows it to be attached directly to the edge of the desk, freeing up surface space and keeping the light where it is needed.

The total height of 860 mm gives it sufficient presence on a nightstand or desk without taking up too much lateral space. The weight of 1.67 kg ensures that the base does not shift easily, which is relevant when changing the angle of the head. The integrated SMD LED does not require frequent replacement and the 6 W consumption keeps energy costs low in daily use.

The accessory for converting it into a clamp lamp significantly expands its possibilities. What in one room may sit on the nightstand, in another can be attached to the headboard or the edge of a shelf. That versatility makes the investment worthwhile in different situations or when reorganizing a space.

Questions and answers

Is the clamp accessory included in the box or does it need to be purchased separately?

The accessory for converting the table lamp into a clamp lamp is included with the product. It does not need to be purchased separately.

Is it possible to adjust both the intensity and the color temperature on the same model?

Yes. The intensity is regulated by sliding the upper ring along the head, and the color temperature is adjusted by turning the integrated wheel. Both controls are independent and are located on the lamp body itself.

Can the included LED be replaced if it stops working?

The SMD LED light source is integrated into the head and is not designed for replacement by the user. In the event of a failure, please contact customer service.
