Overview

The CONGA lamp by FARO is a table luminaire designed for interior spaces where light needs to accompany without imposing. It sits on a bedside table, a desk, or a living room surface and provides a soft illumination that changes how the atmosphere is perceived. The beige fabric shade filters light naturally, without being harsh or flat.

It is a solid option for bedrooms, living rooms, and dining rooms. It also fits well in hospitality projects: hotels, tourist apartments, or any space seeking a carefully crafted atmosphere without resorting to complex solutions. The combination of a matte white structure and a textile shade gives it a clean, understated character, compatible with modern interiors as well as warmer or Nordic-inspired proposals.

FARO is a brand with a track record in interior and exterior lighting. The CONGA collection is part of the Faro Lab line, oriented toward functional design with attention to detail. It is a white lamp that does not seek prominence, but that clearly defines the tone of any corner where it is installed.

Installation and specifications

This table lamp does not require fixed installation or electrical work on walls or ceilings. It rests directly on the chosen surface and connects to the power supply via the included cable. Before placing it, check that the table or surface is stable and capable of supporting the weight of the product. Make sure the outlet is accessible and well positioned so that the cable does not remain taut or in walkway areas.

For the bulb, use an E27 LED type with a maximum power of 15 W. The bulb is not included, so it is advisable to have it ready before placing the lamp. To clean the steel body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish. The fabric shade should be cleaned with a soft dry cloth; do not expose it to direct moisture or rub it forcefully.

Design and use

The CONGA lamp has a quiet presence. The matte white steel structure is sturdy and well-proportioned, and supports a beige fabric shade that softens the light before it reaches the space. It is not a lamp with gold finishes or eye-catching details, but that is precisely why it works in many different contexts. A gold lamp draws attention to itself; this one, on the other hand, integrates and lets the rest of the environment breathe.

On a bedside table, the CONGA creates the kind of light that makes it easy to read for a while before sleeping without the atmosphere feeling cold or clinical. The height of 485 mm means the shade sits at a comfortable distance from the eye when lying down. It is neither excessively tall nor too low. On a compact bedside table, it takes up the necessary space without overwhelming the surface.

In a living room, it can work as a secondary light source on a console or side table. Next to a sofa or in a reading corner, it complements the general lighting without duplicating it. The dining room can also accommodate this type of lamp when there is a credenza or sideboard to place it on: it adds warmth without overcrowding the space. It is not a primary dining room lamp, but it is a complement that changes how the room is perceived as evening falls.

On a desk, it provides localized light that does not cause eye strain. The textile shade disperses the beam and avoids harsh contrast between the illuminated area and the dark background. It is a functional and more discreet alternative to articulated arm lamps, although it does not replace a technical work lamp.

The beige fabric shade pairs well with natural textures: light wood, linen, cotton, wicker, or rattan. In a bedroom with a natural wood bedside table and bedding in neutral tones, the CONGA fits in effortlessly. It also works alongside cooler materials, such as marble or metal, where the fabric provides the necessary warm counterpoint.

In hospitality projects, the choice of table lamps like this one follows a clear logic: they create a more intimate atmosphere than ceiling lighting, are easy to replace or reposition, and require no construction work. A hotel room with a good lamp on the bedside table communicates attention to detail without the need for large decoration budgets.

The E27 socket is one of the most common on the market, making it easy to find compatible LED bulbs in different color temperatures. Depending on whether a warmer or more neutral light is chosen, the character of the lamp changes noticeably. With a 2700K bulb, the beige fabric projects a very warm and enveloping light. With a 3000K bulb, the result is somewhat brighter but equally pleasant.

The CONGA has no USB port, no touch function, and is not rechargeable. It is a lamp modern in concept but without added complexity: plug it in, fit the bulb, and it is ready. That simplicity is part of what makes it suitable for many projects.

Questions and answers

Is the beige fabric shade fixed to the structure or can it be removed for cleaning?

The shade is part of the lamp assembly and is not designed to be dismounted frequently. To clean it, simply wipe the fabric surface with a soft dry cloth. Wetting it or applying pressure is not recommended.

Does the E27 socket accept any LED bulb on the market, or are there size restrictions due to the shade?

The E27 socket is compatible with most standard LED bulbs of that type. The maximum accepted power is 15 W. It is advisable to choose a standard-sized bulb so that it fits neatly inside the shade and does not protrude beyond the edges.

Is it possible to use this lamp on a small bedside table without it taking up too much space?

The lamp base measures 250 x 250 mm, which is equivalent to a 25 cm square. It is a moderate size that adapts well to compact bedside tables, as long as the surface has at least that much free space available.
