Overview

This recessed wall light from FARO is designed for areas where a specific, well-directed light point is needed. A reading nook, a bedside table, a hallway with little natural light, a staircase where you want to mark the path without installing a bulky ceiling lamp. In all these cases, this model solves the need without taking up space or complicating installation.

The minimalist design is by the Nahtrang studio, and it shows in every detail: clean lines, satin gold finish, and a form that does not distract. The lamp integrates a switch on the base itself, allowing it to be turned on and off without depending on the wall switch. That is a real advantage in a bedroom or any corner where you prefer not to get up to control the lighting.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in interior lighting. Its products combine functionality and aesthetics without falling into decorative excess, making them compatible with many interior styles.

Installation and specifications

For wall installation, it is important to verify that the surface is dry, clean, and capable of supporting the weight of the wall light. This model is fixed directly to the wall, so it is advisable to mark the anchor points carefully before drilling. If the installation involves electrical connection, it must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Check that the mains voltage is within the indicated range before connecting the lamp.

To care for the aluminium and steel body with a satin gold finish, simply clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the finish. Do not touch the LED module directly. Always disconnect the lamp from the power supply before cleaning or handling it.

Design and use

The FARO recessed light is a compact wall luminaire that fits well in specific spaces where light is needed without installing an overly visible element. Its body, made of aluminium and steel, has a solidity that is perceptible to the touch, and the satin gold finish adds warmth without feeling overdone. It is not a bright or flashy gold, but a matte tone that integrates well with light, grey, or earthy surfaces.

The light source is an integrated LED module that emits at 3000 K, a warm colour temperature. That warmth makes the light pleasant for reading, resting, or simply setting the mood in a corner. A bedroom with this wall light at the headboard has enough light presence to read without needing to turn on the whole room. The consumption of 4.5 W is modest, which also helps if the lamp is used frequently or for hours at a time.

The switch integrated into the base is one of the most practical details of this model. In a hallway, on a staircase, or in a frequently used bathroom, being able to switch off directly from the wall light saves a step. It is not a minor detail, especially when the lamp is placed far from the main switch or in a thoroughfare.

The model is designed to be recessed into the wall, meaning part of its body is integrated into the surface. This reduces the outward projection and gives the overall fixture a more contained profile. In narrow hallways or staircases with little lateral clearance, that detail matters. A lamp that protrudes too much can be inconvenient in passageways; this recessed light avoids that problem.

As for the spaces where it can work well: the bedroom is the most obvious use, especially as a side reading wall light. But it also fits in an entrance hall or foyer where a welcoming light point is desired. In a bathroom, provided the installation complies with electrical regulations for that space, it can provide localised light in areas where the ceiling does not illuminate well. On a staircase, placed at mid-height, it helps mark the path with a warm, continuous light.

Nahtrang's design opts for sobriety. There are no superfluous decorative elements, nor shapes that draw attention in themselves. This makes it compatible with modern, Nordic, or softly industrial interiors, or with spaces in transition that do not yet have a defined style. It can be combined with white lacquered furniture, natural wood, exposed concrete, or stone cladding without the wall light looking out of place.

The lighting it produces is not of the overhead or general type. It is a specific light point, with a clear direction. That is exactly what is sought when placing a recessed wall luminaire: concentrating the light where it is needed, without attempting to illuminate the entire room. For general lighting it would be complemented by other sources; for a reading nook or an accent point, it works autonomously.

Questions and answers

Does the switch integrated into the base allow it to be used independently of the wall switch?

Yes. This recessed light includes a switch on the lamp's own base, allowing it to be turned on and off directly from the wall light, without needing to use the wall switch.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The LED light source is integrated and comes included with the wall light. No additional module needs to be purchased for it to function.

Is it compatible with electrical installations of different voltages?

Yes. This recessed light operates within a voltage range of 100 V to 240 V, making it compatible with most domestic electrical installations without the need for adapters.
