Overview

LOX is a recessed ceiling lamp from the Spanish brand FARO Barcelona. Its circular profile and white finish give it a clean look, free of distracting elements. It is a lamp designed to integrate into the ceiling without drawing too much attention, while performing its function well in spaces where lighting needs to be functional and orderly.

The modern design of this luminaire makes it particularly suitable for commercial premises, though it also fits in home environments where a neutral and discreet finish is desired. It works well in the kitchen, in hallways, or as a complement to other lights in a dining room or bedroom.

FARO Barcelona is a brand with a long track record in interior lighting. Its products combine solid materials with a style designed to last, without relying on passing trends.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this lamp, check that the ceiling has the appropriate recessed opening for a diameter of 85 mm. As this is a 36V lamp, make sure the electrical installation of the space is compatible with that voltage. If in doubt, consult an electrician before starting. The lamp includes the light source, so no additional components need to be purchased for installation.

To keep the lamp in good condition, clean the outer surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive products or solvents that could damage the white finish of the aluminium body. As it is recessed in the ceiling, avoid applying direct pressure to the housing during cleaning.

Design and use

LOX is a recessed ceiling lamp that takes simplicity as its starting point. Its circular body, made of aluminium combined with polycarbonate, is compact and lightweight. The white finish allows the lamp to blend into the ceiling without creating contrast, which is useful both in domestic interiors and in environments with a modern, orderly design.

The 9W COB LED light source emits warm light at 2700K, close to the temperature of traditional incandescent light. This type of light is comfortable for spaces where time is spent, such as a bedroom or dining room. At the same time, it works well in the kitchen or in work areas when combined with other lights that complement the general lighting.

The 85 mm diameter makes it easy to integrate even in ceilings with little available space. Its height of 70 mm means the body does not protrude noticeably once installed, keeping the ceiling visually clean. This type of finish fits particularly well in interiors with straight lines and no ornamentation, whether in a Nordic, minimalist or industrial style.

In commercial premises, this type of lamp is commonly used to illuminate product shelves, checkout areas or corridors. The warm light it emits helps prevent spaces from feeling cold or clinical, which can be especially interesting in clothing stores, bookshops or small food retailers. Several units installed in a row can function similarly to bar-type lights, creating a continuous line of illumination over the work or display surface.

In home environments, the lamp fits well in bedrooms or secondary bedrooms where indirect lighting without bulky fixtures on the ceiling is desired. It can also be used in a hallway, in a kitchen with a plasterboard ceiling, or in the bathroom as long as the installation complies with the relevant safety regulations for wet areas. In a dining room, combined with a main lamp, it can provide supplementary light without visually competing with the central decorative element.

The neutral style of LOX makes it easy to pair with different types of furniture and finishes. Whether the environment features light tones and matte surfaces or is combined with darker materials or natural wood, the white housing creates no visual conflict. It is a lamp that does not seek the spotlight, but performs its function consistently.

Recessed lights of this type also have the advantage of freeing up visual space on the ceiling, which is especially noticeable in small rooms or those with low ceilings. Unlike a pendant lamp, the recessed fitting does not take up volume in the space, contributing to a sense of greater openness. In interiors with a modern design where visual cleanliness is a priority, this type of solution is usually the most common.

Questions and answers

Does the LOX lamp include the COB LED light source or does it need to be purchased separately?

The 9W COB LED light source is included. No additional components need to be purchased for the lamp to work from the moment of installation.

What diameter opening do I need to prepare in the ceiling to install this recessed lamp?

The total diameter of the lamp is 85 mm, so the opening in the ceiling must be adapted to that measurement for the recessed fitting to sit correctly.

Does a colour temperature of 2700K produce warm or cool light?

2700K corresponds to warm light, similar to that of traditional incandescent bulbs. It is a tone that is comfortable in everyday spaces such as a bedroom or dining room.
