Overview

LOX is a ceiling recessed light by FARO Barcelona, made from aluminium with a polycarbonate diffuser and a white finish. Its circular shape and discreet profile make it compatible with a wide variety of spaces: from commercial premises to residential environments where clean, focused lighting is desired. If you are renovating the lighting in your kitchen, dining room, or any area where you want directed light without the fixture drawing too much attention, this recessed light is a good fit.

The lamp already includes the integrated COB LED light source, so there is no need to purchase anything additional. COB technology provides a concentrated, uniform beam, useful when the goal is to illuminate a specific area without excessive dispersion. The colour temperature is 2700K, a warm light that is pleasant in spaces used continuously.

FARO Barcelona is a company with decades of experience in the design and manufacture of luminaires. Its catalogue combines functionality and aesthetics without resorting to overly elaborate solutions, something that is well reflected in the LOX line.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the recessed light, make sure the hole in the ceiling has the appropriate diameter to accommodate the housing. As it is a recessed ceiling lamp, sufficient space in the plenum is required for the installation depth. Verify that the electrical circuit to which the lamp will be connected is compatible with the indicated voltage. If you have any doubts about the connection process, consult an electrician before proceeding.

To keep the recessed light in good condition, clean the outer surface with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive products or solvents that could damage the white finish or the polycarbonate diffuser. Do not handle the lamp with wet hands or while it is connected to the electrical supply.

Design and use

The LOX by FARO Barcelona is a minimalist recessed light designed to integrate into the ceiling without creating visual noise. Its white aluminium housing sits cleanly against any surface, whether a smooth false ceiling, a painted vault, or a textured finish. The polycarbonate diffuser softens the light output without sacrificing the effectiveness of the integrated COB LED, resulting in focused illumination without harshness.

With a total diameter of just 60 mm and a height of 70 mm, it is one of those lights that practically disappears when not switched on. This makes it an interesting option for those seeking a clean interior style, where lighting elements do not compete with the rest of the décor. On a white ceiling, the recessed light's finish blends with the surface; on ceilings of another colour, the white body remains discreet and does not distort the overall look.

The modern design of the LOX allows it to be used in multiple configurations. It can be installed individually to mark a specific light point, or in groups to create a grid of lights that illuminates a larger area with an orderly and uniform result. In a kitchen, placing several recessed lights above the worktop or island allows you to work with good visibility without needing an additional pendant lamp. In a dining room, a symmetrical arrangement above the table can replace or complement a central lamp. In bedrooms or a single bedroom, they work well in the reading area or as general warm ambient lighting.

This ceiling recessed light also fits well in hallways, bathrooms, dressing rooms, or any space where a low ceiling or the room's functionality makes a larger luminaire impractical. The 2700K temperature produces a warm light that is relaxing in a bedroom, and in a living room or sitting room contributes to creating a welcoming atmosphere effortlessly.

In commercial spaces, the LOX offers the modern style sought by many retail premises, offices, or display areas where lighting needs to be effective and at the same time unobtrusive. Being a model from the FARO home range, it maintains the same quality of materials and finishes expected in residential installations, but with the robustness designed for more intensive use. Modern lights of this type allow lighting grids to be designed in commercial environments with a controlled budget and without resorting to more cumbersome solutions.

The aluminium body provides durability and thermal stability, which is relevant in a lamp designed to remain on for extended periods. The material dissipates heat efficiently, which contributes to the LED's service life. The PC diffuser protects the assembly and provides a uniform finish to the light output, with no bright spots or irregularities visible from below.

If you are thinking of renovating your lighting with a modern style approach and are looking for discreet recessed lights that adapt to both your home and a commercial space, the LOX by FARO represents a well-executed solution. It can be combined with a tension bar or with track systems in more complex installations, or simply installed in the ceiling independently for simpler uses.
