Overview

LOX is a recessed ceiling light by Faro Barcelona, designed for installations where the lamp needs to blend into the ceiling without drawing attention to itself. Its round shape and black finish make it a good fit for spaces where a modern, clean design is a priority. Being recessed into the ceiling, the lamp takes up no visual space and directs light exactly where it is needed.

It is a model particularly suited to commercial environments: shops, galleries, corridors, and display areas. It can also work well in kitchens, dining rooms, or bedrooms, where discreet, uniform lighting is desired without hanging elements that interrupt the ceiling line.

Faro Barcelona has spent decades developing lighting solutions for both residential and contract spaces. Their products combine quality materials with a functional style that does not depend on passing trends.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this recessed ceiling light, check that the opening in the false ceiling has the correct diameter to house the body of the luminaire. As a recessed fitting, it requires sufficient space in the ceiling panel for the body to be fully integrated. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a professional, as the connection operates at 36 V. Always verify that the mains supply is de-energised before starting any work.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth on the aluminium housing and PC cover. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the black finish. Do not touch the LED module directly with your fingers.

Design and use

The LOX by Faro Barcelona is a recessed ceiling lamp with an aluminium body and PC diffuser, in a matte black finish. Its modern design is based on simplicity: a circular shape of 60 mm in diameter that disappears into the ceiling panel and lets the light do the work. There are no unnecessary decorative details, no eye-catching frames. The lamp simply fulfils its function without interrupting the continuity of the ceiling.

The aluminium body provides stability and dissipates the heat generated by the COB LED module. This type of technology concentrates multiple light points into a single cell, resulting in more uniform emission and greater efficiency per square centimetre. The colour temperature of 3000 K places the light in a warm range, close to traditional incandescent light, creating a pleasant atmosphere without the coldness of neutral or cool white.

In a dining room, a series of LOX downlights distributed in an orderly fashion above the table can easily replace a larger pendant lamp. The result is clean, with no elements that visually lower the ceiling. In bedrooms with low ceilings, this option is especially practical: the lights sit flush and the space appears larger. Also in kitchens, where focused lighting is needed over work areas, this type of recessed ceiling fitting is a common and effective solution.

In commercial environments, ceiling fittings of this type are used to highlight products, mark pathways, or illuminate counters and bars. The ability to install several units in a single line above a display rail or counter allows precise control over where the light falls. The black finish fits well with industrial, Nordic, or minimalist interiors, where dark finishes on ceilings or structural elements are common.

The modern design of the LOX also makes it compatible with more contemporary residential spaces: apartments with a contemporary design, refurbished living rooms, corridors, or any area where modern lights are to be incorporated without adding volume to the ceiling. It requires no additional elements to integrate: it arrives ready to install, with the light source included. This simplifies the process from the outset.

The materials chosen by Faro Barcelona for this model are those typical of their interior luminaire range: aluminium for the structure and polycarbonate for the optic. This combination is durable and easy to maintain. The black finish is uniform and resistant to everyday use, without deteriorating over time under normal interior conditions.

For those seeking discreet lighting with good performance that does not interfere with the overall style of the space, the LOX is a solid option. It is not a lamp that seeks the spotlight. It is a lighting tool with careful design and honest materials.

Questions and answers

What diameter opening do I need to make in the false ceiling to install the LOX?

The total diameter of the recessed fitting is 60 mm. That is the space you need to prepare in the ceiling panel so that the lamp sits correctly flush with the ceiling surface.

Is the COB LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The COB LED module is included with the product. You do not need to purchase any additional light source to get the lamp up and running.

Does a colour temperature of 3000 K produce warm or cool light?

A temperature of 3000 K corresponds to warm white light, similar to the tone of traditional incandescent bulbs. It is suitable for environments where a cosy atmosphere is desired, such as a bedroom, dining room, or kitchen.
