Overview

The FARO round recessed luminaire is a ceiling lamp designed for those looking for a clean and tidy result in the interior of their home. It installs directly into the ceiling, with no visible frames or elements that draw attention to themselves. The matte white finish blends naturally into most ceilings, leaving the light as the protagonist and the support in the background.

It is a suitable lamp for the kitchen, dining room, bedroom or other rooms where functional lighting is desired without sacrificing a clean design. Being adjustable, it allows the light beam to be directed where it is most needed, which is useful when a specific area needs to be illuminated without moving furniture or changing the layout of the space.

FARO is a brand with experience in home lighting for interiors. Their products combine solid materials with a modern and discreet design, intended to adapt to different decorative styles without imposing a particular aesthetic.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this lamp, it is necessary to prepare an opening in the ceiling with the appropriate diameter for the recessed body. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially for the connection to the existing wiring. This luminaire does not include the GU10 LED bulb, so it must be purchased separately. Check that the voltage of your installation is compatible with the indicated range before proceeding with assembly. The IP20 protection rating indicates that this model is designed exclusively for use in dry interiors, away from humid areas or direct exposure to water.

For maintenance, simply clean the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive products or liquids that could damage the matte white finish. Always disconnect the power before touching the lamp or changing the bulb. Periodically check that the ceiling fitting remains secure.

Design and use

The body of this lamp is made of steel, a material that provides rigidity and durability without adding unnecessary weight. At just 0.12 kg, it is a lightweight luminaire that places no burden on the ceiling. Its round shape and low profile, with only 55 mm in height, mean it sits practically flush with the ceiling once installed. The result is a fitting with a minimal presence that does not distort the perception of the space.

The matte white finish is one of the most versatile features of this model. It works well on white ceilings, where the lamp visually disappears, but also on ceilings in light or neutral tones. In a kitchen with white furniture or in a dining room with modern lines, this type of luminaire reinforces the visual coherence of the whole without adding decorative elements that compete with the rest of the space. It is one of those modern lights that does not need to draw attention to itself to fulfil its function well.

Adjustability is a practical feature that is not always included in simply designed recessed fittings. In this case, it allows the angle of the spotlight to be adjusted after installation, which gives room to decide calmly where to direct the lighting. In a bedroom, for example, it can be oriented towards the reading area or towards a corner that needs more light. On a kitchen bar or a worktop, it can point directly at the work surface. That flexibility is especially useful in spaces where the layout of the furniture may change over time.

In small bedrooms or in rooms with low ceilings, a recessed lamp like this offers a more comfortable solution than a pendant, because it does not reduce the free height of the space. Fittings of this type allow the ceiling to remain clear and the sense of spaciousness intact. When several fittings are installed in a row or in a grid, the effect is clean and orderly, characteristic of an interior with a contemporary style.

This model is compatible with any GU10 LED bulb on the market, within the limit of 8 W maximum power. The options available in that cap include warm, neutral or cool light tones, which allows the atmosphere of each room to be adapted according to the preferences of those who live there. Well-chosen modern lights can greatly change the perception of a space, especially in areas such as the dining room or bedroom, where colour temperature influences the ambience.

The IP20 rating confirms that this luminaire is intended for dry interiors. It is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use, but in the remaining rooms of a home it functions without restrictions. Its modern design and neutral finish make it compatible with styles ranging from minimalist to Scandinavian or Nordic, without clashing with any of them.

Questions and answers

Can this recessed lamp be installed in any direction or does it only point downwards?

The model is adjustable, which means you can change the angle of the spotlight once it is installed in the ceiling. This allows the light to be directed towards a specific area of the room, such as a work bar, a corner or a particular surface.

Does the IP20 protection rating allow this luminaire to be installed in a bathroom or in an outdoor area?

No. The IP20 rating indicates basic protection against solid objects, but with no resistance to moisture or water. This lamp is designed exclusively for dry interiors. It must not be installed in bathrooms or outdoors.

What size opening needs to be prepared in the ceiling for this recessed fitting?

The total diameter of the luminaire body is 89 mm. The opening required in the ceiling must match that measurement. Before starting work, check that the space available above the ceiling is sufficient to accommodate the 55 mm height of the fitting body.
