Overview

The FARO round recessed light is a lamp designed for those looking for clean, no-fuss ceiling lighting. It works well in both commercial projects and hospitality spaces, although its matte black design and compact size make it equally suitable for a modern kitchen, a well-thought-out dining room, or a bedroom where visual excess is to be avoided.

It takes up no visible space. It integrates into the ceiling and disappears, leaving only the beam of light. It is the type of solution that fits when the goal is to illuminate without the lamp itself drawing attention.

FARO is a brand with experience in interior and exterior lighting. Its products combine solid materials with modern design, and are intended for installations that need to last.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this lamp, check that the ceiling opening has the appropriate dimensions for the indicated diameter. Installation requires a fixed electrical connection, so it is advisable to hire an electrician if you do not have prior experience. The IP44 rating allows it to be installed in areas where splashing may occur, such as a bathroom or a kitchen with steam, although it should not be exposed to direct jets of water. The GU10 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately before starting up the system.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth on the aluminum body. The glass diffuser can be cleaned with a soft cloth without abrasive products. Always turn off the light and wait for the bulb to cool before handling the luminaire or performing any type of cleaning.

Design and use

The body of this lamp is made of die-cast aluminum, a material that combines lightness and durability. The matte black finish is uniform and does not reflect the surroundings, giving it a discreet yet definitive appearance. It is not the type of lamp that ages with changing trends. A modern and neutral design like this remains relevant across different decorative contexts.

The diffuser is made of transparent glass. This means the light comes out direct, without filters that soften or excessively disperse it. It is a suitable option when direction and clarity at the illuminated point are desired. In a kitchen, for example, it can be used over the countertop to provide good working visibility. In a dining room, well positioned, it provides a defined focus over the table without needing any additional pendant lamp.

The 90 mm diameter size makes it appropriate for ceilings with little space between the surface and technical drop ceilings. It generates no visual volume. From below, what you see is a clean black circle flush with the ceiling. This is the style that characterizes projects where every detail is carefully considered without drawing attention to the technical elements.

In bedrooms, this type of recessed light works well when installed in groups. Two or three units distributed create balanced lighting without the need for floor lamps or wall sconces. In larger bedrooms, they can be combined with indirect lighting to achieve different atmospheres depending on the time of day. The warmth or coolness of the result will depend on the GU10 bulb chosen, which gives considerable control over the final tone of the room.

It is also a common option in bar counters, hotel corridors, reception areas, or home office spaces where functional lighting is needed without striking decorative elements. Matte black does not conflict with materials such as wood, concrete, metal, or marble. It adapts without imposing. Combined with other modern lights of the same finish, it creates a coherent visual reading throughout the space.

The IP44 rating expands the possibilities for use. It is not limited to dry areas. It can be installed in bathrooms, steamy kitchens, or covered terraces, as long as there is no direct exposure to water. This sets it apart from other standard recessed lights that do not tolerate moisture.

The mounting system is designed for straightforward installation. The weight of 0.25 kg makes the process manageable. Once installed, it requires no special maintenance beyond occasional cleaning and bulb replacement when necessary.

In terms of general room lighting, this lamp is not intended to work alone in a large room. It works best as part of a system where there are several light points or is combined with other sources. For small spaces or accent lighting, it may be sufficient on its own.

Questions and answers
