Overview

The FARO TATAWIN lamp is a suspension luminaire designed for interior spaces where focused and directed light is sought. Its orange-red metal shade concentrates the beam downward, making it a good option for illuminating a dining table, a kitchen island, or a specific corner of a living room. It does not generate diffuse general lighting, but rather defines zones within the space.

The steel structure in a satin black finish gives it visual stability and fits well in interiors that combine dark materials with warm surfaces. The oval shade adds a distinctive character without being excessive. It is a pendant lamp that does not need to justify itself with many surrounding elements to have presence.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in interior and exterior lighting. Its products are distributed in several countries and are aimed at both residential use and interior design projects.

Installation and specifications

To install this pendant lamp, a previously enabled ceiling light point is required. The fixture attaches directly to the ceiling, so it is advisable to verify that the ceiling rose or junction box is properly anchored before starting. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, the safest option is to entrust it to an electrician. The socket is E27, compatible with standard LED bulbs available in any store. Please note that the lamp does not include a bulb, so you will need to purchase one separately.

To clean the metal shade and steel structure, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the satin black finish or alter the color of the shade. Do not touch the bulb with your hands when it is on or in the minutes immediately after turning it off. Always disconnect the power before handling any part of the lamp.

Design and use

The TATAWIN is a pendant lamp with a recognizable form: an oval metal shade in orange-red and a structure suspended from the ceiling with a satin black finish. This color combination is uncommon in domestic lighting, and that is precisely what gives it personality. The black of the body visually anchors the piece, while the warm tone of the shade introduces a touch of color that enlivens the space without overwhelming it.

The classic and timeless design of this lamp makes it compatible with various decoration styles. In a dining room with a wooden table and upholstered chairs, it works as a natural focal point. In a kitchen with dark furniture, the orange tone of the shade provides contrast and warmth. In a bedroom, placed above a nightstand or in a reading area, it creates a cozy and pleasant atmosphere.

The oval shade directs light downward, allowing a specific surface to be illuminated without dispersing too much to the sides. This is useful in spaces where intense general lighting is not desired, but rather a clear focus on a particular point in the room. A work table, a kitchen countertop, or a sofa in the living room benefit from this type of focal light.

The steel body ensures durability in daily use. It is neither a fragile nor a bulky lamp. With a net weight of 1.67 kg, it remains stable once installed without placing excessive load on the anchor point. The hanging shade stays in position without unwanted movement, contributing to a clean and tidy installation.

In terms of decorative compatibility, this pendant lamp pairs well with iron, wood, or rough surface elements. In a living room with an industrial or vintage aesthetic, the satin black and the metal shade fit naturally. In more modern and open spaces, the orange-red color acts as a decorative accent against a neutral background.

The E27 LED socket allows choosing the bulb according to the needs of each space. A low color temperature bulb will create a warmer and cozier atmosphere, while a medium color temperature bulb is better suited to areas where more clarity is needed, such as the kitchen or bathroom. The maximum admitted power is 15 W, sufficient for effective focal lighting with current LED technology.

This lamp can also work well in transit areas such as a wide hallway or an entrance, where a hanging light point defines the space without the need to install multiple spotlights. The oval silhouette is recognizable even when off, which means the lamp forms part of the decoration during the day as well.
