Design and use

The oval shade of TATAWIN is the first thing that catches the eye. It is not an arbitrary shape: designer Adolfo Abejón took as a reference the silhouette of the traditional dwellings of Tataouine, in southeastern Tunisia, and translated it into an interior luminaire that retains that organic geometry. The result is a pendant lamp with a clear visual identity, removed from the more common formats.

The white opal glass of the shade acts as a diffuser. When the lamp is on, light is distributed evenly downward and to the sides, without creating harsh contrasts in the surroundings. That makes it suitable for spaces where a calm and well-lit atmosphere is sought at the same time. In a dining room, for example, it creates a welcoming atmosphere over the table without dazzling those seated around it.
