Overview

The STAN pendant lamp by FARO is an interior luminaire designed for those looking for uniform light without complications. It is ceiling-mounted and works well in spaces where direct, clean lighting without strong shadows is needed. It is a suitable option for the dining room, bedroom, living room, or kitchen — any environment where light needs to be distributed in a balanced way.

The body is made of aluminium with a matte white finish, giving it a discreet and orderly presence. It doesn't draw too much attention, but it doesn't go unnoticed either. The lamp fits well with modern interiors as well as more neutral or transitional spaces.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in interior lighting. Their products combine functional materials with careful design, built to last and adapt to different home environments.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the lamp, make sure the ceiling electrical circuit is switched off at the distribution board. The fixture is mounted directly to the ceiling, so it is advisable to check that the surface can support the weight of the assembly. If the ceiling is made of drywall or lightweight material, an appropriate anchor plug may be needed. Wiring must be carried out by a qualified electrician or a person with experience in electrical installations. This luminaire supports voltages between 100V and 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not apply abrasive products or solvents to the aluminium body or the ABS parts. Before any cleaning, disconnect the luminaire from the power supply. The GU10 LED bulb is not included — purchase it separately before installation.

Design and use

The STAN series by FARO is designed with a clear idea: to provide uniform light in interior spaces without adding decorative elements that distract. The pendant lamp has a compact profile — 60 mm in diameter — making it a viable option for rooms where available ceiling height is not generous. The total cable length allows the height to be adjusted for different ceiling types, with a maximum drop of 1830 mm.

The aluminium body with a matte white finish holds up well to everyday use. It does not get dirty easily and requires no special maintenance beyond occasional cleaning. The ABS used in parts of the assembly is a lightweight and durable material, common in modern interior luminaires. The total weight of the lamp is 0.76 kg, which makes installation straightforward without the need for additional reinforcement in most conventional ceilings.

This pendant lamp works with a GU10 LED bulb, a widely available format that offers options in different colour temperatures depending on the atmosphere you want to create. For a bedroom, a warm light may be more comfortable. For a kitchen or working dining room, a more neutral or cool temperature can help see details more clearly.

In the living room, the lamp fits well above a side table or in a corner where a specific light point is needed. In the bathroom, its compact profile and matte white finish allow it to blend in without clashing with the elements of the space. In the kitchen, it can be used as a spot light over a work area or countertop.

The STAN lamp is not oval in the strict sense, but its cylindrical and elongated shape creates a silhouette that is reminiscent of oval lines when viewed from certain angles. This gives it a softer appearance than a purely industrial-style lamp or one with very angular shapes. The oval surface described by the suspension cable completes the overall look.

The matte white design of this pendant lamp makes it compatible with a wide variety of interiors: from light-coloured walls and light wood furniture, to spaces with darker tones where the white acts as a counterpoint. It also pairs well with other lights from the same STAN series if you want to create an installation with several luminaires in a row.

The compatible voltage range of 100V to 240V means it can be used in different countries without additional adapters, which is useful if the installation is carried out in a building with electrical standards different from the standard European one. The maximum power of 5 W indicates that it is designed for efficient LED bulbs, not for higher-consumption light sources.

Questions and answers

What type of bulb does this lamp require and is it included?

It uses a GU10 LED base bulb. It is not included in the package, so you will need to purchase it separately before using the lamp.

How long is the suspension cable and can it be shortened?

The total height of the assembly is 1830 mm. If you need to adjust the length according to your ceiling height, consult an electrician, as modifying the cable may involve working with the internal wiring of the luminaire.

Is this pendant lamp compatible with the standard electrical installation in Spain?

Yes. It supports voltages between 100V and 240V, making it fully compatible with the Spanish 230V electrical grid without the need for any adapter.
