Installation and specifications

Before installing the pendant lamp, check that the ceiling point has adequate wiring for the indicated power. The anchoring must be done on a firm base, either directly on the ceiling or using an approved junction box. If you do not have experience with electrical installations, the most prudent thing is to entrust it to an electrician. The cable measures 1500 mm and can be shortened during assembly depending on the ceiling height.

To clean the steel body, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. The glass diffuser can be gently cleaned with a non-scratching cloth. Always disconnect the light from the power supply before handling it. Do not use solvents or abrasive products on any surface of the lamp.

Design and use

The SIDE 200 has a clean and straightforward silhouette. The matte black steel body gives it visual solidity without adding real weight — it barely reaches 850 grams. That lightness makes it easy to handle during installation, and means it does not require reinforced anchor points in the ceiling.

The opal glass diffuser is one of the elements that most defines the character of this luminaire. The glass does not allow the light source to be seen directly, but rather filters and distributes it uniformly. This avoids glare and produces an oval light that spreads gently to the sides and downwards. In spaces with light-colored walls, that effect is amplified naturally.

The lamp works with LED technology through a G9 socket, which ensures contained consumption with a maximum of 6 W. It should be noted that the bulb is not included, so it is worth choosing a G9 LED with a color temperature suited to the use: warmer light for the bedroom or living room, something more neutral for the kitchen or work areas.

In the dining room, the SIDE 200 works particularly well when installed at a medium height above the table, allowing the oval light to cover the central area without blocking the line of sight between diners. In the kitchen, it can be placed above the worktop or central island as a functional light point with aesthetic presence.

For the bedroom, its discreet size and the diffused light from the glass create a calm atmosphere. It is not a ceiling lamp designed to illuminate the entire room, but rather to create a specific focal point where you need it — above the bedside table, in a reading corner, or as a central element if the ceiling is low.

In the bathroom, if the installation point is outside the areas of direct humidity, the lamp can adapt well due to its matte black finish, which does not accumulate fingerprints and maintains a clean appearance with little effort.

The design by Alex and Manel Lluscà favors the honesty of materials. There are no added decorative elements. What you see — steel, glass, color — is what there is. That makes it compatible with modern interiors with clean lines, but also with more eclectic spaces where it coexists with wood, exposed iron or natural textures.

The matte black palette with an opal diffuser also brings it closer to a Nordic aesthetic, where contrasts between dark and light are a common resource. In that type of interior, a pendant lamp like this tends to occupy a central place without needing to compete with other decorative elements.

Questions and answers

Is the G9 LED bulb the lamp requires included in the box?

No, the light source is not included. A compatible G9 LED bulb must be purchased separately, in line with the indicated maximum power of 6 W.

Can the suspension cable be shortened if the ceiling is low?

Yes. The cable has a length of 1500 mm and can be adjusted during installation according to the ceiling height and the desired position for the luminaire.

Does the opal glass diffuser produce oval or spot light?

The opal glass diffuses the light uniformly, producing an oval illumination that is distributed without creating points of intense brightness or sharp shadows in the surrounding area.
