Overview

The RETRO 3L pendant lamp by FARO is a ceiling luminaire designed for those looking for a light source with its own character. It is intended to illuminate interior spaces where visual detail matters as much as functionality. Its origin lies in the collection designed by Alex & Manel Lluscà, with clear aesthetic references to the 1960s, and that is evident in every curve and in the matte copper finish that defines it.

This pendant lamp comes in a three-light version with a multiple ceiling rose, which allows light to be distributed more evenly throughout the space. It is a solid option for a dining room, a living room, or any room where you want to create a warm atmosphere without resorting to generic solutions.

FARO is a Spanish company with a long track record in the design and manufacture of luminaires. Their products combine technical criteria with a defined aesthetic approach, and the RETRO 3L collection is a good example of that way of working.

Installation and specifications

To install this pendant lamp correctly, you need an existing ceiling box and must ensure that the support is capable of holding the weight of the luminaire. Before starting assembly, cut the power at the electrical panel. As this is a ceiling lamp with a multiple ceiling rose, it is recommended that installation be carried out by a certified electrician, especially if the home's wiring requires adaptation. Check that your network voltage is within the indicated range before connecting it.

To clean the matte copper surface, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive or chemical products that could alter the finish. Do not handle the lamp with wet hands or when it is connected to the power supply. E14 LED bulbs are not included, so you will need to purchase them separately before using the luminaire.

Design and use

The RETRO 3L lamp has a clear presence in the space. The matte copper finish does not try to go unnoticed: it is the central element of the piece, and it works precisely because it does not compete with the surroundings, but rather complements them. The steel body provides solidity without adding unnecessary visual weight.

The three-light multiple ceiling rose version allows each light point to work in a coordinated way. This is especially useful over a long dining table or in a living room where you need to cover a larger surface without installing several independent lamps. Three focused light points within a single system simplify both the installation and the visual result.

The design of the RETRO 3L collection has an overall oval shape that recalls luminaires from the mid-twentieth century. That oval silhouette is not a whim: it helps the pendant lamp maintain a clean profile when viewed from different angles. In a room with high ceilings, the total height of 1740 mm allows the cable to be used to its full extent without the light being positioned too high. In lower spaces, the cable can be adjusted during installation.

In a kitchen with furniture in neutral tones, the matte copper acts as a point of contrast without breaking the harmony of the whole. In a bedroom, the warmth of the finish helps create a more intimate atmosphere. It also works well in a private bathroom, provided the installation conditions are suitable for that environment. In a dining room, a pendant lamp of this type above the table naturally defines the space, without the need for other decorative elements.

The use of an E14 LED bulb makes the lamp compatible with low-consumption, long-lasting options. Since the bulb is not included, the user can choose the colour temperature that best suits each room. A warmer light reinforces the vintage character of the design; a more neutral one brings it closer to a more modern register.

The oval silhouette of the piece also fits well in environments where materials such as wood, glass, or iron are mixed. It does not require a specific decorative style, although its aesthetic connects particularly well with interiors that seek a more classical reference within a contemporary context. In a living room with simply lined furniture, this pendant lamp works as the element that adds personality without overwhelming the space.

The matte copper finish will age discreetly if properly cared for. Unlike glossy finishes, the matte surface does not show fingerprints or unwanted reflections, making it easier to keep in good condition over time.

Questions and answers

Does the RETRO 3L lamp include the E14 LED bulbs needed for it to work?

No, the bulbs are not included. The lamp is compatible with E14 LED bulbs, which you will need to purchase separately before installing it.

Is it possible to adjust the cable height on this ceiling pendant lamp?

The total indicated height is 1740 mm, but the cable can be adjusted during assembly to adapt the luminaire to the ceiling height of each space.

Does the three-light multiple ceiling rose require special electrical installation in the ceiling?

Not necessarily, but it is important that the existing ceiling box is adequate to support the weight of the lamp and that the wiring allows the three lights of the ceiling rose to be connected. It is recommended that the installation be carried out by a professional.
