What type of bulb needs to be purchased for this lamp?

The lamp uses an E27 LED socket. The bulb is not included, so it must be purchased separately. The maximum accepted power is 15 W.

Is the polycarbonate oval diffuser resistant to impacts or to the heat generated by the bulbs?

Polycarbonate is a more impact-resistant material than glass and tolerates well the heat generated by low-power LED bulbs such as those this lamp accepts. Even so, it is advisable not to exceed the maximum indicated power in order to keep the diffuser in good condition.
