Overview

LUMINA 1200 is a horizontal pendant lamp from FARO, designed for those who want a light source that does not interrupt the space, but complements it. Its linear silhouette and very slim profile make it a good fit above a dining table, in the kitchen, in a generously proportioned living room, or in any environment where you want to visually organize the lighting without adding unnecessary volume to the ceiling.

The piece works with integrated SMD LED technology at 2700K, producing a warm light close to traditional incandescent light. That tone is especially comfortable in moments when atmosphere matters: a dinner, a quiet gathering, the end of the day at home.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in lighting technology. Their products combine clear technical criteria with forms that do not age easily, something that is evident in every detail of this lamp.

Installation and specifications

Before installation, check that the ceiling anchor point can support the weight of the lamp. As this is a piece over one metre in length, it is advisable to verify that the distance between the wiring point and the centre of the module is appropriate so that it remains well balanced. The electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified technician. Always follow the electrical regulations in force in your area.

To clean the lamp, disconnect it from the power supply and wait until it is completely cool. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe the transparent body and the opal diffuser. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the PC finish. Never wet the electrical parts under any circumstances.

Design and use

The LUMINA 1200 has a construction that draws attention for what it lacks: no ornaments, no decorative elements that overwhelm the eye. The body is completely transparent, with a profile of just 34 mm in height and 30 mm in depth. That slimness makes the lamp appear almost suspended in the air, as if it were floating below the ceiling without resting on anything.

The diffuser is made of polycarbonate with an opal finish, a material that distributes light evenly along the 1245 mm length. There are no areas of greater or lesser intensity: the illumination is continuous and uniform. This is very useful when placed above a work surface, a kitchen countertop, or a table where clarity without harsh shadows is needed.

The 2700K temperature places this piece in the warm light range. In a rest room, that tone helps create a more relaxed atmosphere. In the dining room, it gives spaces that welcoming ambiance that cooler tones cannot achieve. In the living room, it allows the lamp to coexist with natural materials or wood finishes without the light colour breaking the harmony.

The length of over one metre makes the LUMINA 1200 a visually elongated piece, capable of marking an axis in the space. Above a rectangular dining table, for example, it clearly defines the gathering area without the need to install several spotlights. In the kitchen, a single unit can cover a work island or a preparation area efficiently.

Due to its linear character, this pendant works well with straight-lined interiors: modern aesthetic environments, spaces with low-profile furniture, kitchens with flat fronts. But it can also be the element that contrasts with a warmer or more rustic interior, where the transparent body and refined design provide a contemporary counterpoint.

In the bedroom, placed above the bed, it acts as a light source that takes up little visual space but clearly defines the area. Its very slim profile does not create a sense of weight. In a large bathroom, above an oversized mirror or a vanity area, the piece functions as a light source that illuminates in a homogeneous and discreet manner.

The integrated 24W module works with LED technology, resulting in efficient consumption and a long service life for the unit. The fact that the light source is not included in the purchase allows the user to choose the compatible bulb that best suits their specific needs, within the lamp's parameters.

The combination of quality materials, the opal finish of the diffuser, and the transparent body give this lamp a presence that does not compete with the rest of the space, but completes it. It is the type of piece that stands out when well positioned and that, at the same time, does not distract.

Questions and answers

Is the 24W LED module incorporated into the lamp or does it need to be purchased separately?

The light source is not included in the purchase. You will need to acquire separately a source compatible with the specifications of the LUMINA 1200, respecting the indicated power and voltage parameters.

Does the transparent body show the internal wiring or is it concealed within the profile?

The module design integrates the internal elements within the 30 mm depth profile. The transparent finish of the body is part of the lamp's aesthetic, and the opal diffuser covers the light source directly.

Is it possible to install the LUMINA 1200 on a ceiling with a single central anchor point?

Yes, provided that the wiring point is correctly centred relative to the 1245 mm length of the lamp. A qualified installer can verify the balance of the pendant and adjust the installation so that it hangs level.
