Installation and specifications

For installation, it is necessary to fix the canopy to the ceiling with the appropriate anchors for the type of surface, whether concrete, drywall or wood. Since the lamp has five suspension points, it is advisable to verify that the ceiling can support the total weight of the assembly before starting. The wiring must be connected to the electrical network with the power off. If there is no prior experience with electrical installations, it is recommended to use an electrician.

The metal shade can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents should not be used. The matte black structure is sensitive to scratches, so contact with hard objects during cleaning should be avoided. Do not expose the lamp to direct moisture, as it is not designed for damp areas without additional protection.

Design and use

The KOMBO series was born from the collaboration between FARO and the Nutcreatives design studio. The result is a family of pendant lamps that share a common visual language: straight lines, defined geometric shapes and a neutral colour combination that does not conflict with the surroundings.

The oval shade of each lamp is made of metal, with a grey finish that balances the upper structure in matte black. That oval shade is not just a formal detail: it defines how light is projected downwards, concentrating it in the lower area without excessive dispersion to the sides. The oval silhouette adds softness to an ensemble that might otherwise appear too rigid.

The cylindrical body in matte black acts as a transitional element between the ceiling and the shade. It is discreet, but sufficiently present so that the lamp does not appear incomplete from certain angles. The steel from which it is made guarantees consistency in the finish and resistance to everyday use.

This version of the series includes a multiple canopy with five suspension arms. That means five pendant lamps sharing a single anchor point on the ceiling, but which can be distributed in a staggered or symmetrical arrangement depending on the space. In a large living room, this arrangement can create an orderly visual effect over a coffee table or over a seating area. In a dining room with a long table, it allows the light to be spread so that there are no areas left in shadow.

In a kitchen with a central island, the set of five pendants can visually define the work area without the need to add other decorative elements. The combination of matte black and grey works well both with furniture in dark tones and with lighter environments, where the contrast adds definition to the space.

In a bedroom, a grouping of pendant lamps at different heights can replace traditional bedside tables with a lamp, freeing up surface space and giving the ensemble a cleaner look. The oval shade in grey metal does not reflect light aggressively, making it suitable for spaces where a calm atmosphere is desired.

The lamp is compatible with E27 screw cap LED bulbs. The KOMBO series is also available in different sizes and finishes within the same FARO catalogue, making it possible to combine pieces or scale the installation according to the dimensions of the room. If the space changes or expands, it is possible to complete the ensemble with more units of the same design without losing visual coherence. In a room with high ceilings, the cable of up to 5000 mm in length offers sufficient margin to adjust the drop height precisely.

For a long corridor where light needs to be distributed linearly, this five-light version can be a practical solution. Unlike other more elaborate luminaires, the neutral design of KOMBO does not impose a specific style, making it compatible with modern interiors, with spaces of a more classic character or with environments that mix references.

Questions and answers

Does the multiple canopy allow adjusting the spacing between each pendant lamp?

The multiple canopy fixes the five suspension points from a single anchor on the ceiling. The spacing between each pendant depends on the design of the included canopy and is not freely adjustable.

Can the grey metal oval shade be installed in a bathroom?

This luminaire is not specifically designed for damp areas. In a bathroom with good ventilation and kept away from the shower or bathtub it can be used, but it is not recommended in environments with direct moisture or frequent condensation.

Is it possible to use LED bulbs of more than 15 W with this lamp?

No. The maximum admitted power is 15 W. Exceeding this limit can damage the luminaire and poses a safety risk. It is always recommended to use E27 screw cap LED bulbs that do not exceed this power.
