Overview

The ISABELLE 500 pendant lamp by FARO is an oval-shaped ceiling luminaire that combines character and functionality. Its opal glass diffuser emits soft, warm light with no direct glare or harsh shadows. The result is a lighting solution that integrates well into the environment without drawing too much attention to itself.

This pendant lamp works particularly well in living rooms, dining rooms, or bedrooms. It can also be installed in commercial or contract spaces where a refined finish is sought without resorting to overly technical or cold solutions.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in luminaire design and manufacturing. Their products combine constructive quality standards with genuine attention to aesthetics, designed for both domestic installations and interior design projects.

Installation and specifications

To install this ceiling lamp correctly, a ceiling power outlet capable of supporting the weight of the assembly is required. The net weight of the item is 6 kg, so the anchoring point must be firmly secured to the slab or a load-bearing structure. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before connecting any cables, make sure the circuit is de-energized. The pendant lamp accepts voltages between 100V and 240V, making it compatible with the standard electrical grid in Spain and most countries.

The steel body with a matte white finish does not require special cleaning products. A soft, slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Avoid abrasive products or liquids that could damage the finish. The opal glass diffuser should be cleaned carefully, without excessive pressure. Do not handle the lamp while the bulb is on or in the minutes immediately after switching it off.

Design and use

The ISABELLE collection was designed by Héctor Serrano with a clear idea: to create a pendant lamp that had its own texture, not just shape. The oval surface with waves is reminiscent of hand-crafted ceramic vases. Those waves are not merely decorative: when light passes through the opal glass, they generate small variations of light and shadow that give character to the object even when it is switched off.

The body is made of steel with a matte white finish. This is a finish that does not age visibly, does not easily accumulate marks, and pairs well with neutral surfaces such as white, grey, or stone-toned walls. This ceiling lamp fits in modern interiors, but also in more sober or clean-lined spaces where an overly eye-catching element is not desired.

The 500 mm diameter gives it a real presence in the space. In a dining room, placed above the table, it covers the work area well and creates a defined zone of light without the need to add additional light sources. In a living room, it can function as a primary lamp if the ceiling height is medium to high. In a large room, it provides the central light point without overloading the atmosphere.

The light source is E27 LED, which allows you to choose the bulb according to the needs of each space: warmer for the bedroom or living room, slightly more neutral for the kitchen or bathroom. The lamp does not include a bulb, giving you the freedom to adjust the intensity and colour temperature to your liking. The maximum accepted power is 15 W, sufficient for comfortable lighting in medium-sized spaces.

The collection is available in three complementary models, making it possible to combine several pendant lamps in the same room. An installation with two or three units at different heights can work very well in a long hallway, an island kitchen, or a generously sized dining room. This versatility makes ISABELLE an interesting option for both domestic use and larger-scale projects.

The opal glass is one of the elements that most defines this luminaire. Unlike a transparent diffuser, opal glass distributes light evenly and prevents direct glare. This makes it comfortable for spaces where the lamp is at eye level, as may occur in stairways or passageways. In a bedroom or bathroom, this type of diffused light is particularly pleasant.

Questions and answers

How much does the ISABELLE 500 lamp weigh and what type of ceiling anchor does it require?

The net weight of the lamp is 6 kg. To install it safely, the anchoring point on the ceiling must be fixed directly to the slab or to a structure capable of supporting that weight. An anchor in a false ceiling is not sufficient without additional reinforcement.

Is the oval diffuser made of glass or another material?

The diffuser is made of opal glass. This material disperses light evenly, reducing contrasts and preventing the bulb from being directly visible through the shade.

Is the ISABELLE 500 lamp compatible with standard E27 screw cap LED bulbs?

Yes. The lamp accepts E27 LED bulbs of up to 15 W. The bulb is not included, so you can choose the colour temperature and intensity level that best suits the space where you plan to install it.
