Overview

VIEW is a wall light designed for outdoor use, intended for terraces, gardens and facades where something more than a simple light source is needed. Its shape is clearly different from the usual: angular lines, a compact profile and a dark grey finish that fits well in both modern and more understated environments. This wall light emits light upwards and downwards at the same time, creating a decorative lighting effect without the need to install multiple lamps.

It is made from ABS and polycarbonate, materials that hold up well in outdoor conditions without losing their appearance. The opaque polypropylene diffuser distributes light evenly, without direct glare or areas of excessive intensity.

FARO is a company with a long history in lighting, recognised for working with leading designers and for offering products that combine aesthetics and functionality. This wall light is a good example of that approach: design by Estudi Ribaudí, with a visual result that does not go unnoticed.

Installation and specifications

For installation, fix the wall light directly onto the wall with anchors suitable for the surface type. Before starting, make sure the power is switched off at the electrical panel. Check that the junction box is properly aligned with the base of the wall light. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, especially in outdoor installations where the connection must be well sealed against moisture.

For maintenance, clean the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the finish of the body or the diffuser. Do not disassemble it without first disconnecting the power supply. Periodically check the condition of the anchors, especially if the wall light is exposed to wind.

Design and use

VIEW starts from a clear idea: providing light in two directions from a single point, creating visual volume on the wall without taking up space. The lamp projects the beam upwards and downwards, producing a lighting effect that works both at ground level and at height. In a garden, this translates into a strip of light that defines the space without the need to install an additional spotlight on the ceiling or on the ground.

The body of the wall light is made from ABS combined with polycarbonate. Both materials are common in mid-to-high quality outdoor luminaires because they withstand temperature changes and prolonged exposure to the elements well. Polycarbonate, in particular, is far more impact-resistant than glass, which is useful in high-traffic areas or spaces where children or pets may come into contact with the lamp.

The diffuser is made of polypropylene with an opal finish. This type of diffuser filters the light and spreads it evenly, preventing the emission point from being seen directly. The result is a soft light that does not cause glare, suitable for areas where time is spent sitting, such as a terrace with a table or a porch. Unlike an open spotlight, this wall light does not create harsh contrast between lit areas and areas in shadow.

The dark grey colour of the body works well on walls in neutral tones, exposed concrete, stone or treated wood. It does not draw attention during the day, and at night the lighting effect takes centre stage. It is a wall light that does not compete visually with its surroundings, but rather integrates into them.

The design is the work of Estudi Ribaudí, a design studio with experience in lighting products. The forms of VIEW have an angular geometry that moves away from more conventional wall lights without being excessive. It is a lamp that can work both in residential exteriors with a contemporary style and in commercial spaces such as hospitality terraces or hotel gardens.

The E27 socket is one of the most common on the market, making it easy to find a compatible LED bulb. The lamp is not included in the package, so this must be accounted for before installation. The maximum accepted wattage is 15 W, sufficient for decorative outdoor lighting. For spaces where more functional light is needed, it is worth supplementing it with other sources or an additional directed spotlight.

The wall light operates over a wide voltage range, between 100 V and 240 V, making it compatible with the standard electrical network in Spain and in most countries. Its compact dimensions — 290 mm long by 100 mm high and 95 mm deep — make it manageable even on walls with limited available space. It does not take up much room, and its weight of 0.34 kg does not require any special reinforcement in the wall.

It is a good option for those looking for an outdoor lamp that offers something more than light, without the installation being complicated or the result being overly conspicuous.

Questions and answers

Does the VIEW wall light emit light in only one direction or in multiple directions?

This wall light emits light both upwards and downwards from the wall. This allows a decorative effect to be created from a single installation point, without the need to combine multiple luminaires.

What type of bulb do I need for this lamp and is it included?

The lamp uses an E27 socket, compatible with most LED bulbs available on the market. The light source is not included in the package, so it must be purchased separately. The maximum accepted wattage is 15 W.

Does the material of the wall light hold up well to rain and direct sunlight outdoors?

The body is made from ABS and polycarbonate, materials commonly used in outdoor luminaires. Sun and rain are the standard conditions of use for which this wall light is designed. If you have doubts about the specific conditions of your installation, consult an electrician before mounting the lamp.
