Overview

The FARO wall light in dark grey is designed for outdoor lighting: facades, entrances, terraces and garden areas where functional light is needed without sacrificing aesthetic detail. The lamp is fixed directly to the wall and directs the light beam both upward and downward thanks to its directional fins, allowing you to control how and where it illuminates.

What sets this wall light apart from a conventional luminaire is the ability to adjust the light focus in two directions. It is not just security lighting: it can also be used to highlight a facade, mark an access point or add visual character to an exterior wall.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a long track record in luminaire design for professional and residential use. Their products combine careful finishes with materials prepared for outdoor use.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light on the exterior wall, check that the surface is solid and can support the anchoring. The wiring must be switched off throughout the installation. If you do not have experience with outdoor electrical installations, it is advisable to have an electrician carry out the work. The lamp connects to a standard 220V–240V mains supply.

To keep the wall light in good condition, clean the aluminium body with a damp cloth and no abrasive products. The opal glass diffuser can accumulate dust or outdoor dirt; simply clean it with water and a soft cloth. Avoid the use of solvents or aggressive chemical products that could affect the finish.

Design and use

The FARO wall light in dark grey has a compact construction that takes up little space, yet creates a visual presence. The body is made of aluminium, a material that withstands outdoor conditions well: temperature changes, humidity and prolonged sun exposure. The dark grey finish does not draw excessive attention during the day, but at night the light beam defines the space clearly.

The opal glass diffuser softens the LED emission and prevents direct glare. The light projected by this lamp has a colour temperature of 3000K, which corresponds to warm white. This is the type of lighting that is most pleasant at access points, terraces and entrances, because it does not create the coldness of more intense white lights and integrates well with other elements of the surroundings.

The directional fins are the most practical element of this wall light. They allow the light beam to be adjusted upward, downward or in both directions at the same time. This provides flexibility to use the lamp both for a decorative purpose, highlighting the texture of the wall or facade, and for a more practical purpose, illuminating a path or an entrance. Not all outdoor wall lights offer the possibility of directing the focus, and in this case it becomes a real advantage.

The total power is 2x3W with SMD LED technology. It is sufficient to illuminate a section of wall, an access point or a garden area without excessive consumption. The light source is included, so no additional purchase is needed to get the lamp up and running.

The size of the wall light is compact: 140mm long, 111mm high and 110mm deep. These dimensions make it suitable for walls with little space or for installations where a large luminaire is not desired. It is also easy to combine with other similar luminaires if you want to illuminate a long facade or a larger terrace.

As for its integration into the surroundings, the dark grey finish pairs well with materials such as stone, concrete, dark wood or exposed brick. It does not look out of place on modern facades or on exteriors with a more sober or natural style. The clean appearance of the aluminium body helps ensure the wall light does not visually overload the space.

It is a wall light that can be installed at the entrance of a home, next to a garden gate, on a covered terrace or on any exterior wall that requires controlled lighting. If in the future you wish to incorporate a motion sensor or a detector into the circuit, that will depend on the general installation, not on the lamp itself.

Questions and answers

Can the directional fins of the wall light be adjusted after installation, or do they stay fixed in one position?

The fins are designed to direct the light beam before or during installation. Once the lamp is fixed to the wall, the position is set according to how they were placed. If you want to change the orientation, you would need to remove the wall light.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the SMD LED light source. No additional component needs to be purchased to install and use the wall light from the very first moment.

Does the dark grey aluminium body maintain its colour well with prolonged exposure to sun and rain?

Aluminium is a material that tolerates outdoor conditions well. The dark grey finish is designed for outdoor use, where exposure to sun and humidity is common. Periodic cleaning with a damp cloth helps to keep the appearance in good condition.
