Overview

PALS is an outdoor wall light designed to illuminate facades, entrances, terraces, and garden areas where continuous, durable lighting is needed. It mounts directly to the wall and works with an E27 LED bulb, which is not included but can easily be found in any store. The body is made of aluminum with a matte white finish, and the opal glass diffuser spreads light softly, without annoying glare.

What makes this wall light stand out is its IP65 protection rating, which makes it suitable for outdoor use even in areas exposed to direct rain. It also features an IK06 impact resistance rating, making it a solid option for frequently used spaces or those with some physical exposure.

PALS is a design by Faro Lab, the in-house design line of the Spanish brand FARO, with years of experience in both indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine functionality with a refined finish, designed to last.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light on an exterior wall, it is recommended to hire an electrician. The connection point must be protected and compatible with the indicated voltage. The fixture mounts directly to the wall on a flat, stable surface. Before starting, it is advisable to mark the anchor points precisely so that the light is level. It should not be installed on surfaces with accumulated moisture or on coverings that do not guarantee a firm hold.

To clean the aluminum body, simply use a soft, slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish should not be used. The diffuser glass can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. It is recommended to periodically check the condition of the anchors and the sealing gasket to ensure that the rain protection remains in good condition.

Design and use

The PALS wall light has a clean, compact appearance that adapts well to modern facades, garden walls, and entrances to single-family homes. Its matte white finish does not stand out excessively during the day, but when night falls and the lamp is switched on, the opal glass diffuser projects an enveloping light that defines the space well without being harsh.

The aluminum body gives it a lightweight yet sturdy structure. It is a material that withstands temperature changes well and does not deteriorate with prolonged sun exposure. With its IP65 certification, this outdoor wall light is ready to withstand rain, wind, and the typical humidity of a garden or terrace. There is no need to protect or cover it when bad weather arrives.

The IK06 impact resistance adds another level of safety, especially useful in high-traffic areas or outdoors where there may be accidental contact with the fixture. This is not a minor detail when thinking about long-term durability.

The bulb used is an E27 LED type, with a maximum power of 15 W. Being LED, energy consumption is low and the lifespan is long, reducing the need for frequent replacements. The universal voltage of 100 V to 240 V makes it compatible with standard electrical installations without the need for adapters.

This wall light works well both as a standalone installation and in series. Placing two lights symmetrically on either side of a front door is a common solution that gives a neat and balanced result. It can also be combined with other garden luminaires, such as bollards or ground spotlights, to create a cohesive outdoor lighting scheme.

On covered terraces, this wall light serves a dual purpose: it illuminates the usable space while also adding visual presence to the wall where it is installed. At garage entrances or side access points, it provides the necessary light to move around safely without being excessive.

The design does not incorporate a motion sensor or any automatic detection system. Those looking for a wall light with an integrated motion sensor should bear this in mind. However, it is perfectly compatible with external switches or automation systems that include a presence detector or timer.

Matte white is the main color option, although the PALS model is also available in dark gray for those who prefer a finish that contrasts less with dark-toned facades or gardens with dense vegetation.

Questions and answers

Can this wall light be installed in an area directly exposed to rain?

Yes. The PALS wall light has IP65 certification, meaning it is protected against dust and water jets from any direction. It is suitable for outdoor installation without the need for additional protection against rain.

Does the wall light include the E27 LED bulb, or does it need to be purchased separately?

The bulb is not included. It must be purchased separately. An E27 LED lamp with a maximum power of 15 W is recommended to comply with the wall light's specifications.

What does the IK06 impact resistance rating on this outdoor wall light mean?

The IK06 rating indicates that the wall light can withstand impacts of up to one joule of energy without sustaining damage. It is a mechanical protection measure useful in high-traffic areas or where the fixture may receive accidental knocks.
