Overview

This outdoor wall light by FARO is a solution designed for those who want to illuminate the exterior of their home without complications. It works well on terraces, gardens, entrances and passageways where discreet but sufficient lighting is needed. The light beam points downward, making it especially useful for guiding movement in areas with poor nighttime visibility.

The lamp is made of ABS with a transparent polycarbonate diffuser. It is compact, lightweight and features IP65 protection, meaning it resists both direct rain and dust. It requires no special maintenance and can remain installed outdoors without issue.

FARO is a brand with a long track record in the lighting industry. Their outdoor products combine durable materials with functional design, intended to blend into different types of environments without drawing too much attention.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this wall light, check that the surface is solid and flat. As this is a surface-mounted outdoor luminaire, the wiring must be properly protected and comply with local electrical regulations. If you do not have experience with outdoor electrical installations, it is advisable to seek the help of an electrician. Wall mounting must be done with the appropriate anchors for the type of wall material.

To clean the lamp, use a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemical products that could damage the finish of the body or the diffuser. Do not handle the luminaire when it is connected to the electrical mains.

Design and use

The FARO wall light has a very slim profile: 96 mm long, 60 mm high and just 30 mm deep. This makes it a suitable option for spaces where a bulky lamp is not desired. On the facade of a house, at the entrance to a garden or on a covered terrace, this type of luminaire goes almost unnoticed during the day and fulfills its function when night falls.

The dark grey body blends effortlessly with concrete, stone or stucco surfaces. It also works well on facades painted in neutral tones. This is not a wall light that tries to stand out visually, but one that integrates into the surroundings and provides light where it is needed.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows the light source to be seen directly, giving a clean and contemporary appearance. The warm 3000K light projects a soft amber tone, without the coldness of other color temperatures. On a terrace or at the entrance of a home, that kind of light creates a welcoming atmosphere without being excessive.

The 2W SMD LED light source is included, so there is no need to purchase anything additional to get the lamp up and running. The driver is also built in, which simplifies installation considerably. The connection works with standard voltage of 220V-240V, just like any domestic light point.

The IP65 protection is one of the most relevant aspects of this wall light. This rating guarantees that the interior of the luminaire is protected against dust ingress and against water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for installation in areas exposed to sun and rain without performance being affected over time. In gardens where irrigation reaches the walls, or on uncovered terraces, that protection makes a real difference.

Although it does not incorporate a motion sensor, the wall light can be combined with an external detector installed in the electrical circuit. This possibility makes it versatile: it can function as a fixed ambient light or activate only when there is movement in the area, depending on how the installation is configured. In entrances and passageways, that type of configuration is quite practical.

The net weight of 0,12 kg makes it one of the lightest options on the market. It places no load on the wall and can be installed without additional reinforcement structures. For those renovating the exterior of their home and wanting to add light points without complex work, this wall light is a straightforward option with no surprises.

In well-lit gardens, several units of this wall light distributed along a path or on the sides of a terrace create uniform and orderly lighting. The lamp does not produce direct glare thanks to the downward orientation of the light beam, making movement comfortable even at a visual level.
