Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is an outdoor wall lamp. It works well at entrances, façades, terraces, and covered access areas where a directed and stable light is needed. Its aluminum body in a white finish allows it to blend effortlessly into light-colored surfaces or environments with a clean and tidy style.

What sets this wall light apart is the ability to choose the projection angle: 23° or 34°, one upward and one downward. This allows the direction of the light to be adjusted according to the space and the height of the wall where it is installed. The light source is recessed, so there is no direct glare when looking toward the lamp.

FARO is a Spanish brand with years of experience in luminaires for indoor and outdoor use. Their products combine technical design with materials suited to each condition of use.

Installation and specifications

For installation, the wall light must be fixed directly onto the wall with anchors suitable for the type of surface, whether brick, concrete, or exterior cladding. Since the lamp is mounted outdoors, it is advisable to ensure that the wiring is protected from the wall to the junction box. It can be oriented either upward or downward depending on the desired installation. It is recommended that the electrical connection be carried out by a qualified professional.

To clean the surface of the wall light, a damp cloth without abrasive products is sufficient. The white finish may show accumulated dirt over time, especially in areas with frequent dust or rain. It is advisable to periodically check the condition of the body and the fixing points to ensure that everything remains in place.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has a geometric design with a square profile that adapts well to smooth walls and façades with straight lines. Its body is made of aluminum, a material that withstands temperature variations and prolonged sun exposure well. The white finish gives it a neutral appearance that does not compete with the surroundings or with other decorative elements on the exterior.

The lamp works with COB LED technology, which concentrates several light points into a single compact source. This allows the beam to be more precise and the light to be distributed in a more controlled manner. The color temperature of 3000K produces a warm light, close to soft white, which is pleasant at entrances, patios, and terraces without generating a cold or clinical feel.

One of the most useful aspects of this wall light is the built-in drainage system. In areas where rain is common, water can accumulate in cavities or gaps in luminaires and cause damage over time. The KOV design takes this into account from the outset, so there is no need to worry about water stagnation.

The ability to mount the lamp in either a vertical or horizontal position expands the usage scenarios. In a narrow entrance with limited vertical space, the horizontal orientation may be the most practical solution. On a wider façade or on a terrace with high walls, the vertical position may work better visually.

The angles of 23° and 34°, one for upward projection and one for downward, allow fine-tuning of how the adjacent wall or ground is illuminated. A narrower projection concentrates the beam on a small area, while a wider one distributes the light more broadly. This flexibility is useful when the wall light is installed on an irregular wall or in an area where the light needs to reach specific points without disturbing passers-by.

In terms of the usage environment, this wall light fits well in residential spaces: house entrances, garden sides, garage access walls, or covered areas next to the front door. It also works in semi-private areas of buildings, such as exterior corridors or building entrances. Its white finish integrates easily with light-colored façades and does not look out of place in more contemporary environments.

A motion sensor is not included in this model, but the installation can be combined with an external detector if automated switching is desired. This is useful in areas where the lamp does not need to be on continuously, such as an occasional access point or a garden area that is only used at specific times. The wall light is compatible with this type of configuration as long as the sensor and circuit are correctly sized.

Overall, the KOV is an outdoor lamp that addresses wall lighting in a straightforward way, without superfluous elements. The beam is recessed, the body is compact, and the visual result is neat. For those looking for a functional solution without complicating the exterior appearance of the home, this wall light fulfills that objective well.
