Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed to be mounted directly on the wall. Its square white aluminium body fits well on both contemporary facades and open-air spaces where a clean, neat finish is desired. It can be mounted vertically or horizontally, which allows flexibility to adapt the installation to the available space.

This wall light emits light in one or two directions, with the light source integrated in a slightly recessed position to avoid direct glare. This is a detail that makes a difference when the lamp is at eye level or near areas of frequent passage. The built-in drainage system prevents water from accumulating inside, which is relevant outdoors where rain is common.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in indoor and outdoor lighting. Their products combine technical criteria with functional design aimed at everyday use.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is necessary to have a recessed junction box in the wall or sufficient space to house the wiring. Since this is an outdoor wall light, the electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified technician. Before starting, make sure the circuit is de-energised. The wall light supports both vertical and horizontal mounting, so it is advisable to decide the orientation before marking the anchor points. The fixing surface must be clean, dry and capable of bearing the weight of the assembly.

For maintenance, simply clean the aluminium surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents that could damage the white finish should not be used. Periodically checking the condition of the anchors and the edges of the wall light helps to maintain the seal and good appearance over time.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has a compact format that takes up no more space than necessary. With a height of 212 mm and a depth of just 87 mm, it integrates well on walls with frequent foot traffic or where the lamp should not stand out excessively. The white finish gives it a neutral appearance that does not conflict with other elements of the facade or garden.

The COB LED technology incorporated in this lamp allows light to be concentrated with precision. The beam angles of 34 degrees, one upward and one downward, direct the beam in a controlled manner. This prevents the light from scattering without purpose and makes the visual effect on the wall much more defined. The 3000K colour temperature produces a warm tone that is pleasant in outdoor night settings, without the coldness of whiter lights.

On a terrace, this type of wall light works well next to doors or windows, marking the boundaries of the space without overloading the wall with an oversized spotlight. It also fits well in entrances, porches or on the side of a pergola. In gardens with paved areas, placing several wall lights along a wall can be an effective solution for illuminating the path without resorting to floor-standing lanterns.

The possibility of orienting the lamp upward or downward expands the design options. If installed pointing upward, the grazing light on the wall creates a sense of spaciousness. If it points downward, the light is more concentrated on the ground and the immediate area around the wall light, which is useful in entrances or outdoor staircases. In bidirectional configuration, the effect combines both results at the same time.

The aluminium from which the body is made is a common material in outdoor luminaires due to its durability and low weight. The KOV wall light weighs 1.23 kg, so it does not require a particularly reinforced anchor. The integrated drainage system is a technical element that goes unnoticed but plays an important role: it prevents water from being retained inside the wall light after rain or the intense summer sun that causes condensation. It is one of those details that are not visible but extend the useful life of the product.

The wall light can be mounted vertically or horizontally depending on the needs of each installation. This offers flexibility when the available wall space is not standard or when a different visual effect is desired. Combined with other luminaires from the same range, it is possible to create a uniform and coherent light distribution on facades, entrances or garden areas with a supporting wall.

Questions and answers
