Overview

The KOV wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor use. Its clean lines and white finish make it compatible with modern facades, entrances, terraces and garden areas where tidy lighting is desired without distracting visual elements.

The lamp emits direct and indirect light with the LED source recessed, which eliminates direct glare. It can be oriented upward or downward, with an opening angle of 23º in each direction. This allows you to decide which area to illuminate depending on how the wall space is arranged.

FARO is a brand with experience in technical lighting for indoor and outdoor use. Their wall lights combine design criteria with construction solutions designed for real outdoor conditions.

Installation and specifications

To install this outdoor wall light, make sure the surface where it will be fixed is solid and level. As it is a surface-mounted luminaire with wall fixing, the wiring must be protected and accessible from the wall. It is recommended that the electrical installation be carried out by a qualified professional, especially in environments exposed to the elements.

To keep the wall light in good condition, simply clean the aluminium surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents should not be used. Periodically checking that the drainage system is not blocked helps to extend the lamp's service life.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has an aluminium body with a white finish. Aluminium is a common material in outdoor luminaires because it withstands temperature changes well and does not deteriorate with ambient humidity. The square shape of the wall light is compact: 212 mm high, 80 mm wide and 87 mm deep. It takes up little space on the wall and fits without difficulty in narrow entrances or outdoor corridors.

The lamp operates with COB LED technology, which concentrates several diodes on a small surface and provides uniform light. The colour temperature of 3000K gives a warm tone, close to traditional incandescent light. It is a common choice for residential areas where a calm atmosphere is desired at nightfall, without the coldness of a whiter light.

One of the most practical features of this wall light is the ability to choose the direction of the light. Installed facing upward, the spotlight illuminates the wall above the fixture and creates a visual effect that highlights textures and materials. Oriented downward, the spotlight directs the light towards the ground or the access, which is useful at entrances or outdoor steps. The 23º angle in each direction concentrates the beam without excessive dispersion, making the lighting efficient and controlled.

On a terrace, this wall light can be placed on the side wall to mark the boundary of the space without the need to install independent posts or lanterns. In a garden, fixed to the facade or a perimeter wall, it helps to define nighttime pathways with a soft but sufficient light. It also works well in covered porches, where rain does not reach directly but humidity remains a factor to consider.

The design of the wall light includes an internal drainage system that prevents water from accumulating inside the housing. This constructive detail is relevant in areas with frequent rainfall or regular condensation. It does not rely on a motion sensor or external detector, but can be integrated into installations that already have these elements in the general electrical circuit.

The white colour of the body integrates well with light-coloured facades, whitewashed walls or natural stone cladding. In environments with vegetation, the wall light recedes visually during the day and becomes prominent with the light on at night. Its appearance is neutral and technical, without ornamentation, making it compatible with contemporary styles or with home renovations where a clean line is sought.

The weight of the wall light is 1.23 kg, a figure that indicates solidity without being excessive for a standard wall installation. The LED light source is included, so it does not need to be purchased separately.

Questions and answers

At what angles can the light of the KOV wall light be oriented?

The wall light allows two positions: with the spotlight directed upward or downward. In both cases the opening angle is 23º, which concentrates the beam of light in a specific area without excessive dispersion.

Does the KOV wall light include an integrated motion sensor?

No, the lamp does not incorporate a motion sensor or detector. It operates with conventional on and off switching. If you want to automate switching, it can be connected to an external system already installed in the circuit.

What material is the body of the KOV wall light made of?

The body is made of aluminium with a white finish. Aluminium is resistant to corrosion and withstands outdoor conditions well, including exposure to humidity and temperature variations typical of garden or terrace use.
