Overview

The FARO KOV wall light is a wall lamp designed for outdoor installations. It works well at house entrances, facades, covered terraces or garden access points. Its square shape and white finish blend effortlessly into smooth surfaces in new builds or renovations.

The lamp directs light precisely thanks to its 14° angle, which means it illuminates exactly where needed, without unnecessary dispersion. The COB LED light source is recessed inside the body, so there is no direct glare to the eye. This is especially noticeable when the wall light is positioned at eye level.

One feature that sets this wall light apart is its integrated drainage system. Being outdoors, rainwater does not accumulate inside the body, which extends the product's lifespan without requiring additional maintenance.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in luminaires. Their products combine functional design with materials prepared for real outdoor use.

Installation and specifications

For installation, it is recommended to hire an electrician. The wall light is fixed directly to the wall using anchors appropriate for the surface type. Before starting the assembly, make sure the power supply is switched off at the electrical panel. The junction box must remain protected inside the body of the wall light once mounted. Verify that the wall can support the weight of the assembly before final fixing.

To clean the outer surface, a dry or slightly damp cloth is sufficient. Do not use abrasive products or solvents on the aluminium. Periodically check that the drainage system is not blocked by dirt or plant debris, especially in garden areas with nearby vegetation.

Design and use

The KOV wall light has a square aluminium body. Aluminium is a material that withstands continuous outdoor exposure well: it does not rust easily, handles temperature changes and maintains its finish for years. The white colour of the body makes it versatile; it integrates into both light-coloured facades and neutral-toned walls without drawing excessive attention.

The COB LED light source emits a colour temperature of 2700K. That range corresponds to a warm light, close to the tone of a traditional incandescent lamp. Outdoors, this type of light creates a welcoming atmosphere without feeling cold or clinical. It is useful at entrances, garden access points or on the terrace, where functional lighting is sought that does not break the night-time atmosphere.

The 14° illumination angle concentrates the light beam in a fairly narrow way. This makes it a suitable lamp for highlighting specific elements: a door number, a wall texture, the edge of a path. It is not a wall light designed to illuminate a wide area in general, but to reinforce specific points with precision.

The possibility of mounting it both vertically and horizontally gives some flexibility when planning the installation. Depending on how the electrical outlet is oriented or what visual effect is desired, the same wall light can work in two different ways without the need for additional accessories.

The integrated drainage system is one of the most practical details of the design. In an outdoor lamp, water that enters through condensation or rain can accumulate inside and cause problems over time. The drainage prevents this stagnation passively, without any intervention from the user.

This wall light does not incorporate a motion sensor or presence detector, so switching on and off depends on the electrical system it is connected to. If you want to automate the fixture, this would need to be done from the circuit or by adding an external dusk-to-dawn switch.

As for combining with other luminaires, the neutral design of the wall light allows it to be used alongside other models from the same KOV range. Placing two symmetrical wall lights on either side of a front door is a common solution that works well both in homes with a contemporary aesthetic and in more classic-style dwellings.

For a terrace with several light points, this wall light can coexist with floor lanterns or suspended luminaires without creating visual conflict. The key is to maintain the same colour temperature across all sources so that the overall result is coherent.

Questions and answers

Can the KOV wall light be mounted both vertically and horizontally?

Yes. The design of the wall light allows it to be installed in both orientations on the wall, providing flexibility to adapt to different electrical configurations or aesthetic preferences.

What type of light does this lamp emit and how does it affect the outdoor atmosphere?

The lamp emits warm light at 2700K, similar to the tone of a traditional incandescent bulb. Outdoors, that temperature creates a calm and welcoming atmosphere, especially useful at entrances, in the garden or on the terrace.

Does the aluminium body require any special treatment to withstand outdoor conditions?

No. The white-finished aluminium used in this wall light does not need additional treatments. Periodic cleaning with a dry cloth is sufficient to keep it looking in good condition.
