Overview

The DUNE wall light by FARO is a square surface-mounted luminaire for walls, designed for outdoor use. Its compact format makes it suitable for signage and orientation in entrances, access points, outdoor corridors, terraces and facades. It takes up no space, does not interfere with the surroundings and performs its function with precision.

What sets this wall light apart is the integrated switch that allows you to choose between four colour temperatures: 2200K, 2700K, 3000K and 4000K. This means you can adjust the tone of the light to suit the context, without changing the lamp or installing additional equipment. A facade may require warm, soft light; a technical access area may need a cooler, more defined tone.

FARO is a brand with a long track record in residential and outdoor lighting. Its products are designed for installations where design and functionality must coexist without compromise.

Installation and specifications

Before installing this wall light, make sure the wall surface is clean, dry and level. As this is an outdoor wall-mounted luminaire, it is important that the wiring is properly protected and routed in accordance with local regulations. Make sure to cut the power supply before beginning installation. If you have no experience with outdoor electrical installations, it is advisable to engage an electrician.

For maintenance, simply clean the surface of the wall light with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the matte white finish of the aluminium body. Periodically check that the fixing points remain secure, especially after periods of heavy rain or strong wind.

Design and use

The DUNE wall light has a square format of 100 x 100mm with a depth of 35mm. These are restrained dimensions that allow it to be integrated into surfaces where visual prominence is not sought, but rather a discreet and efficient presence. The body is made of aluminium with a matte white finish, a material that combines lightness with durability. The transparent polycarbonate diffuser protects the interior and distributes light evenly towards the front.

The lamp operates with 3W SMD LED technology at a voltage of 220V-240V. The light source is included, so no additional purchase is needed to get it up and running. With 3W consumption, energy use is low, making it a suitable option for installations that remain on for many hours.

The most notable feature of this wall light is its ability to change the colour temperature via an integrated switch. The four available options — 2200K, 2700K, 3000K and 4000K — cover a wide range spanning from very warm amber tones to neutral whites. This flexibility is useful when the wall light is installed in spaces with different uses throughout the day or night. For example, on a terrace a warm light may be preferable at dusk, while at the entrance to a premises or garage a cooler tone that improves visibility may be more appropriate.

In terms of application, this outdoor wall light works well at the entrances of residential buildings, next to access doors, on garden walls, along uncovered corridors or in walkways near a terrace. It can also be used on facades as a signage element, marking levels, access points or changes of plane in the wall. Its flat profile and white finish allow it to adapt to both contemporary architecture and more understated environments.

Although it does not incorporate a motion sensor, its design is compatible with installations where switching control is managed externally — via a timer, a detector or a conventional switch. This gives it versatility within broader lighting schemes.

If several units are combined along a wall or facade, the result is uniform lighting with no hot spots or areas in shadow. The visual consistency between several wall lights of the same model reinforces the sense of order in the outdoor space. Unlike a lantern or a larger spotlight, this lamp does not dominate the aesthetic of the space, but rather integrates into it.

The white colour of the body is neutral and remains visually clean over time, especially in environments with direct sunlight exposure. Aluminium does not oxidise or lose dimensional stability with temperature changes, which contributes to the overall durability of the unit.

Questions and answers

Is it possible to change the colour temperature after the wall light has been installed on the wall?

Yes. The wall light incorporates an integrated switch in the body that allows you to select between 2200K, 2700K, 3000K and 4000K. This adjustment can be made directly on the luminaire, without needing to disassemble or modify the electrical installation.

Does the aluminium body withstand prolonged exposure to sunlight and rain outdoors?

Aluminium is a stable material when exposed to sunlight and humidity variations. It does not oxidise under normal outdoor use conditions and maintains the matte white finish without deformation due to temperature.

Is the included LED lamp replaceable if it breaks?

The SMD LED light source comes integrated and is included from the factory. In the event of a fault, we recommend contacting our customer service team to assess the most appropriate solution.
