Overview

The DUNE wall light by FARO is an outdoor lamp designed for wall mounting. Its rectangular format and dark grey finish make it suitable for entrances, facades, terraces, and any outdoor area where clear and functional lighting is needed. It is not primarily a decorative wall light — its main value lies in guiding, signalling, and illuminating efficiently.

What sets this lamp apart from other wall options is the ability to choose between four different colour temperatures via an integrated switch. This means there is no need to decide at the time of purchase: it is adjusted directly on the fixture, depending on the atmosphere you want to achieve. From a warm light of 2200K to a cooler white of 4000K, the same wall light works for very different contexts.

FARO is a Spanish company with decades of experience in manufacturing luminaires for residential and professional use. Its outdoor catalogue combines resistant materials with sober design, built to last under real-world conditions.

Installation and specifications

For installation, the wall light must be fixed directly onto the wall with anchors suitable for the type of surface — brick, concrete, or exterior cladding. As this is an outdoor lamp, the cable entry point should be properly sealed to prevent moisture ingress. It is recommended that the electrical connection be carried out by a qualified electrician. Before any intervention, make sure to cut the power at the main panel.

For maintenance, simply clean the surface with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Abrasive products or solvents should not be used. The PC diffuser may accumulate dust over time; periodic cleaning helps maintain light quality. Avoid direct and prolonged exposure to pressurised water jets.

Design and use

The DUNE wall light has a very compact profile: 200 mm long, 80 mm high, and just 32 mm deep. This allows it to integrate well on walls where a bulky lamp is not desired. The body is made of aluminium, a material that combines lightness with durability, and the dark grey finish gives it a neutral appearance that suits facades of different styles — from the most contemporary to buildings with a more traditional character.

The transparent polycarbonate diffuser allows light to project clearly towards the area to be illuminated. There is no unnecessary dispersion: the light goes where it needs to go. This is especially useful at entrances, doorways, or outdoor corridors where the main function is to see the path clearly.

The SMD LED technology incorporated in this lamp offers stable performance with a consumption of just 6 W. There is no excessive heat build-up, and the light source is already included, so nothing additional needs to be purchased to get the wall light up and running.

One of the most practical aspects of DUNE is its colour temperature selection switch. Many people are unsure what tone of light they want until they see the actual result. With this wall light, it can be tested directly on the wall: 2200K gives a warmth similar to that of a candle, ideal for areas where a calm atmosphere is sought at sunset. The 2700K or 3000K settings work well at entrances and access points where clarity is desired without it feeling cold. The 4000K setting is more functional, suitable for transit areas or when it is necessary to distinguish details clearly without relying on natural light.

This wall light fits well on terraces where other luminaires of a sober style already exist, as its design does not visually compete with the surroundings. It also works as a complement in gardens when installed alongside other spotlights or wall lights to create different planes of illumination. It does not include a motion sensor or integrated detector, but it can be connected to an external system if automated switching is desired.

For those with a facade featuring dark or earth-toned cladding, the dark grey of the DUNE wall light blends well with the surface. On light-coloured facades, it creates a clean and orderly contrast. The rectangular, horizontal format gives it a modern look without being overly elaborate.

Questions and answers

Is it possible to change the colour temperature after the wall light has been installed?

Yes. The switch for selecting between 2200K, 2700K, 3000K, and 4000K is integrated into the wall light itself and can be used once installed, without needing to disassemble the lamp or modify the wiring.

Does the PC diffuser withstand continuous outdoor use?

Polycarbonate is a material designed for demanding conditions. It withstands temperature changes and does not become brittle easily, making it suitable for an outdoor wall light exposed to typical climatic variations.

How much depth does the wall light take up on the wall once installed?

The body of the wall light has a depth of 32 mm, so it protrudes very little from the wall surface. This is useful in narrow passageways or entrances where a protruding element is not desired.
