Overview

DORO is a wall light designed for outdoor use. It is installed on facades, access walls, terraces, and garden areas where stable, weather-resistant lighting is needed. The lamp projects light on both sides, allowing it to illuminate a wide strip without leaving any areas in shadow.

The wall light features IP65 protection, meaning it withstands both direct rain and dust and solid particles. It is a solution designed for those seeking durability without complications. It requires no frequent maintenance or additional protection against the weather.

FARO is a Spanish brand with a track record in decorative and technical lighting. Its outdoor luminaires are designed to integrate into different types of residential environments, from gardens to covered access areas.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light, it is recommended to have a qualified electrician. Mounting is done directly on the exterior wall using anchors appropriate for the type of surface. Before starting, make sure the electrical installation is de-energized. The wiring must be properly protected and sealed to maintain the IP65 waterproofing rating of the wall light.

The aluminum body requires no special treatments, but it is advisable to clean the surface with a damp cloth without abrasive products. The prismatic glass diffuser can accumulate dirt over time; simply remove it carefully and clean it separately. Avoid the use of solvents or aggressive chemical products. The LED lamp is included and must not be replaced with one of higher wattage than indicated.

Design and use

The DORO wall light has an elongated and compact shape: 500 mm long by 58 mm high and 75 mm deep. These proportions allow it to adapt well to different types of walls without appearing bulky. The body is aluminum in dark grey, a finish that does not draw excessive attention but maintains visual presence on stone, concrete, or modern cladding facades.

The diffuser is made of glass with a prismatic finish. This type of surface breaks up the light and distributes it more evenly, reducing the effect of direct glare. Light is emitted from both sides of the wall light, creating perimeter illumination that works well both for navigating a garden at night and for giving visual presence to an entrance or terrace.

The included SMD LED light source operates at 3000K, a warm color temperature that softens the atmosphere and is pleasant in residential outdoor settings. It does not produce the cold tone of industrial spotlights or the excessive yellowness of some older lamps. It is a contained light that does not visually pollute the surroundings.

The IP65 rating ensures that the wall light is prepared for rain and for environments with dust or airborne particles. This makes it suitable for use in gardens, terraces, covered access areas, or exposed exterior facades. It does not need canopies or additional protection to function correctly under normal weather conditions.

Regarding installation, the wall light is mounted directly on the wall using the anchor points it incorporates. The reduced depth of 75 mm means it does not protrude too far from the wall, which is useful in exterior corridors or passageways where lateral space is limited. The lamp weighs 2.15 kg, a moderate figure that does not require special support on most conventional walls.

The dark grey of the body pairs well with light-colored walls, where it creates contrast without harshness, and also integrates naturally into dark facades or exposed material surfaces. It is not a wall light that imitates the aesthetic of a classic lantern, nor a piece with a markedly industrial look. Its design is neutral, allowing it to work in different environments without needing to adjust the rest of the decorative elements.

Some users combine it with an external motion detector to add functionality without modifying the wall light itself. It can also work alongside other garden or terrace luminaires as part of a perimeter lighting system. The motion sensor is not integrated into this model, but the electrical installation can incorporate one independently if desired.

For areas where sunlight shines directly during the day, the aluminum finish and prismatic glass do not degrade from prolonged sun exposure. The material does not rust or visibly lose color over time under normal outdoor use conditions.

Questions and answers

Does the DORO wall light emit light in only one direction or both?

Light is projected from both sides of the wall light. This allows it to illuminate a wider area on the wall where it is mounted, without needing to install two separate luminaires.

Is a color temperature of 3000K suitable for a residential entrance or garden?

Yes. 3000K corresponds to a warm white light, similar to that of a traditional incandescent bulb. It is a tone that feels welcoming outdoors and does not produce the cold effect of spotlights with higher color temperatures.

Is the IP65 rating sufficient for installation on a facade exposed to direct rain?

Yes. IP65 indicates full protection against dust and resistance to water jets from any direction. The wall light can be installed on exterior facades without additional protection against rain.
