Overview

The DORO wall light by FARO is a wall lamp designed for outdoor use. It is mounted directly on the wall and projects light on both sides, making it useful both for illuminating a façade and for creating a balanced visual presence in the space. It works well at house entrances, outdoor hallways, terraces, and garden walls.

The body is made of aluminum with a matte white finish, and the diffuser is made of prismatic glass. This combination allows the lamp to withstand outdoor conditions without losing a neat appearance. The integrated SMD LED technology consumes a total of 20W, split across two 10W modules, with a color temperature of 3000K that provides warm and pleasant light.

FARO is a brand with extensive experience in indoor and outdoor luminaires. Its catalog includes wall lights, spotlights, and lighting solutions for different environments, with a consistent focus on material quality and product durability.

Installation and specifications

Before installing the wall light, make sure the chosen wall has access to adequate electrical wiring for outdoor use. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, as this is a wall luminaire connected to the 220-240V mains. Verify that the surface is solid and flat to ensure a good grip. Also check that the available space is compatible with the dimensions of the wall light: 380mm in length, 58mm in height, and 75mm in depth.

For care of the wall light, clean the surface of the aluminum body with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that may damage the matte white finish. The prismatic glass diffuser can be cleaned with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not submerge the lamp in water or expose it to direct jets. Although the IP65 protection rating protects against rain and dust, it is advisable to check the general condition of the wall light periodically, especially if it is exposed to extreme weather conditions.

Design and use

The DORO wall light by FARO has a discreet profile that does not draw excessive attention, but performs its function well. Being mounted on the wall and emitting light on both sides, it creates a wide light distribution without the need to install several lamps. This is especially useful on long façades or garden walls where continuous illumination is desired without dark spots.

The aluminum body gives it rigidity without adding unnecessary weight. At just under 1.8 kg, it does not require special anchors. The matte white finish integrates easily into light-colored walls and also contrasts well against darker surfaces or stone. It is a wall light that does not impose a specific style, making it easy to combine with different types of architecture, from modern homes to more traditional constructions.

The prismatic glass diffuser softens the light output. Instead of a bright point, it distributes the illumination more evenly. The 3000K temperature generates a warm tone, similar to incandescent light, which is pleasant in spaces where time is spent outdoors at night. A well-lit terrace with this type of light invites you to stay outside, even after the sun has gone down.

The IP65 protection rating is a relevant detail for any outdoor wall light. It means the wall light is protected against dust and against water projected from any direction, making it suitable for areas exposed to direct rain. In climates where sun and rain alternate frequently, this protection makes a significant difference in the durability of the product.

The SMD LED light source is included, so the wall light arrives ready to install. There is no need to look for bulbs or adapters. The two 10W modules work simultaneously, providing balanced light on both sides of the wall light. This symmetrical design is practical for wall lights placed, for example, on either side of a front door or along an outdoor hallway.

In terms of possible combinations, the DORO wall light can pair well with other outdoor lighting elements, such as an adjustable spotlight above the door or a floor lamp in the garden. It does not require a sensor or motion detector to operate, but it can be integrated into installations that include external switching control systems.

The wall light also makes sense in enclosed or semi-covered patios, where sun exposure is partial and artificial light is needed for much of the day or during nighttime hours. Its compact size and clean design do not visually overwhelm the space.

Questions and answers

Does the DORO wall light project light in only one direction or in both?

The lamp projects light on both sides. This allows a wider surface to be illuminated with a single wall light, which is practical on façades or long walls.

Is the IP65 protection rating sufficient for areas with frequent rain?

Yes. The IP65 rating ensures that the wall light is protected against dust and water projected from any angle. It is suitable for outdoor use in typical rain conditions.

Is the LED light source included or does it need to be purchased separately?

The lamp includes the 2x10W SMD LED light source. There is no need to purchase any additional module; the wall light arrives ready to install and connect.
