Overview

BRONX is an outdoor wall light designed to illuminate entrances, gardens, terraces and facades. Its brown finish gives it an industrial character that fits well in both contemporary spaces and environments with more natural textures, such as stone or wood.

This outdoor lamp was designed by Alex & Manel Lluscà, a duo of designers with a recognised track record in the interior design and industrial product sector. The result is a wall light with fine, well-proportioned lines that does not visually overload the wall where it is installed.

FARO is a Spanish brand with decades of experience in lighting. Their products combine solid technical criteria with careful design, built to last and to integrate well in different contexts. The BRONX wall light is a good example of that approach: functional, understated and with its own personality.

Installation and specifications

To install this wall light on an exterior wall, it is recommended to have a suitable flush-mount box or flat surface. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician, as it requires connection to the home's electrical network. Before starting, make sure to cut the power at the electrical panel. The IP44 rating protects the lamp against water splashes and medium-sized solid particles, making it suitable for outdoor use without direct exposure to heavy rain. The GU10 LED bulb is not included and must be purchased separately.

To keep the wall light in good condition, clean the aluminium body with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive products or solvents that could damage the brown finish. The transparent glass diffuser can be cleaned with a dry or minimally dampened cloth. Do not direct jets of water directly onto the lamp or submerge it.

Design and use

The BRONX wall light has a compact construction that does not draw excessive attention, but does add character to the space where it is installed. The body, made from aluminium with a brown finish, conveys solidity without feeling visually heavy. It is the kind of spotlight that you notice when it is off, but that does not distract when it is on: it does its job and lets the surroundings speak for themselves.

The transparent glass diffuser allows light to emerge directly, without filters that soften it too much. This makes it a particularly useful wall light for illuminating specific points: the entrance to a house, the side of a garden gate, the access to a terrace. The light it projects is clean and well-defined, which helps with orientation outdoors without needing to install multiple luminaires.

The brown finish is an element that sets this lamp apart from the more neutral options on the market. It pairs well with exposed brick, dark wood, natural stone or concrete surfaces. It also works on facades painted in earth tones, grey or bottle green. If you are looking to integrate outdoor lighting within a coherent decorative scheme, this wall light is a solid starting point.

The fine-lined design means the wall light does not take up visually more space than necessary. Its dimensions are compact — less than 15 cm in length and barely 10 cm in height — making it suitable for narrow walls, between windows, or on the sides of doors where available space is limited. Despite its small size, the lighting output is sufficient for typical residential outdoor use.

Compatibility with a GU10 LED bulb allows you to choose the colour temperature according to the atmosphere you want to create. A warm light of around 2700 K provides a welcoming tone ideal for the garden or terrace during leisure hours. A more neutral temperature, close to 4000 K, may be more suitable if the wall light is used at entrances or passageways where greater visibility is needed. In both cases, energy consumption remains low thanks to LED technology.

The BRONX wall light does not include a motion sensor or integrated detector, but it can be combined without issue with timer switches or basic home automation systems already installed in the home. This expands its range of uses without needing to modify the lamp itself.

Questions and answers

Is the BRONX wall light suitable for installation on an uncovered terrace where it may be exposed to rain?

The wall light has IP44 protection, which means it withstands water splashes from any direction. It is suitable for use on a terrace or in a garden under normal conditions, although it is not designed to be continuously exposed to direct, heavy rain. If the location is partially protected by an overhang or roof, it will work without any issues.

What type of bulb do I need to buy for this wall light and where can I find it?

This wall light uses a GU10 base bulb with LED technology and a maximum power of 5 W. The bulb is not included in the box. GU10 LED bulbs are very commonly used and can easily be found at hardware stores, large retail stores or lighting shops.

Can the aluminium body with brown finish deteriorate over time due to sun exposure?

Aluminium is a resistant material for outdoor use. The brown finish may undergo very slight changes after years of direct sun exposure, which is common with any outdoor product. Regular cleaning with a soft cloth helps to maintain the original appearance for longer.
