Overview

The SAIGON stake by FARO is an outdoor luminaire designed to be installed directly in the ground. With a height of 1370 mm and a W70 shade in brown opal finish, it is suitable for gardens, access paths, terrace areas or similar environments where low and consistent lighting is desired. Its design follows the principles of the Nahtrang collection: clean lines, no unnecessary ornamentation, with a profile that does not compete with the surroundings but integrates into them.

The body made of aluminium with a dark grey finish provides resistance without adding visual weight. The opal diffusion distributes light evenly, without creating hotspots or harsh shadows. The result is outdoor lighting that fulfils its function in a discreet and stable manner.

FARO is a company with extensive experience in lighting. Its collections are oriented towards residential and professional use, with attention to constructive detail and aesthetic coherence across its product lines.

Installation and specifications

To install this outdoor stake, the ground must be prepared in advance. The fixing type is in-ground, which means that an underground or nearby electrical connection point must be planned for. It is recommended that installation be carried out by a qualified electrician, particularly to ensure the watertightness of connections in an outdoor environment. Before installing, check that the ground is stable and that the base of the stake will be level. The E27 LED lamp is not included, so acquire it separately before commissioning. The voltage range of 100 V–240 V allows use in standard electrical installations.

For maintenance, clean the surface of the body with a slightly damp cloth, without abrasive products or solvents that could damage the aluminium finish. The PEMD diffuser can be cleaned in the same way. Avoid using pressurised water directly on the luminaire. When you need to replace the light source, make sure to cut the power supply before handling the lamp holder.

Design and use

The SAIGON stake is part of an outdoor collection that embraces simplicity as its primary design criterion. There are no superfluous details in its structure: the dark grey aluminium body has straight lines and balanced proportions, with a brown opal shade that filters the light without altering it excessively. This combination of materials and finishes makes it a piece that adapts well to different outdoor contexts, from a contemporary-style garden to a terrace with more neutral finishes.

With a total height of 1370 mm, the stake has sufficient presence to mark a path or define an area without the need for additional bollards, although it also works well when combined in series. In installations where multiple units are used, the result is continuous and harmonious outdoor lighting along the route. This type of arrangement is common at residential entrances, patio edges or garden perimeters where guiding the eye without resorting to an elevated spotlight is desirable.

The W70 shade has an opening that allows light to be distributed laterally. This is useful when the aim is to illuminate both the immediate ground and the surrounding space at mid-height. It does not act as a concentrated beam projector, but rather as a diffuse source that reduces the contrast between illuminated and dark areas. In a garden with vegetation, this effect softens transitions and produces a result that is more integrated with the natural surroundings.

The body material, aluminium, is a common choice for outdoor luminaires due to its corrosion resistance and dimensional stability against temperature changes. The dark grey finish complements surfaces such as treated wood, natural stone or concrete well, so it fits effortlessly into terraces featuring those materials. In a pergola or a patio with dark paving, the tone of the body blends in visually without drawing more attention than necessary.

The PEMD diffuser in brown opal finish modulates the colour of the emitted light, providing a visually warmer tone than a standard white diffuser would offer. This can be relevant in environments where a more welcoming atmosphere is sought during the night-time hours. The lantern does not impose a specific style, but its chromaticism leans towards settings with natural materials or earthy colour palettes.

The stake accepts an E27 LED lamp of up to 15 W. As it is not included, the user can choose the colour temperature and luminous flux that best suits their needs. This flexibility is useful when there are specific criteria regarding the intensity of outdoor lighting or when the aim is to unify the colour temperature with other luminaires in the same space.

Questions and answers

Does the SAIGON stake include the E27 LED bulb required for its operation?

No, the E27 LED light source is not included with the product. It must be purchased separately before installing and commissioning the luminaire.

Does the aluminium body with dark grey finish require any additional treatment to withstand outdoor weather conditions?

No additional treatment is required. Aluminium is a material that performs well in outdoor conditions without needing extra protection. Periodic cleaning with a damp cloth is sufficient to keep the finish in good condition.

Is it possible to use this stake in an installation with multiple units aligned along a garden or patio?

Yes. The SAIGON stake is designed for in-ground installation with an electrical connection, which allows for planning a line of several bollards along a route. Each unit requires its own connection point, so it is advisable to plan the electrical layout before installing.
